Default 991.2 life expectancy

Hello All, I'm looking into getting a 2017 911 c4s, however I was wondering how long until there is a complete redesign of the 911, such as 997 to 991. It just seems that the 991 is around since 2012 or 2013. thanks

The "next generation" like 2020 I'm guessing.

991.2 GTS late 2018 and 2019 my guess too. They'll probably do some other special edition trim I'm sure as well.

991.1

2012.5
2013
2014
2015
2016

991.2

2017
2018
2019

The 997's:

997.1
2004-2008

997.2
2009-2012

Next one is probably hybrid. GTS should be out 2017-18 and GT3 after that. I'd guess 2019 as a 2020 model?

Everyone obsesses about "the last one". Will the 991.2 be the last pure gas powered 911? The last with a manual?

There should be a hybrid "option" in the .2 of the next generation I'm guessing. Maybe .1's?

Porsche has said there will be a hybrid variant at some point to choose from. The next generation will be wider too.

NO WAY all 992's (next generation) will be ALL HYBRIDS.

Manuals will be around a while too.

My SA just told me that the 991.2 GTS will launch in April/May 2017 and the GT3 in Sept 2017. He was told this by head office apparently....

992 will most likely be available for delivery mid/late 2019 as a 2020 model.

I just read in Panorama that a new 911 platform is coming in 2019, probably as a 2020 model.

I was told the 991.2 GT3RS would be out in 2018, so late 2019 looks realistic for a new model

FYI..... I sat with my local Porsche sales guy in front of his computer and took a look at the internal ordering software platform. We "enabled" the 2017 AND 2018 model year.... and there was every model of 991.2 listed (coupe, targa, cabriolet, 4s and s, - - - and there was no GTS in the system.
