Are you seriously asking if you can go 130 MPH with a ski rack on? In NJ? SMH.

Confusing thread....

I would put them on , in stacked pairs, as you did and limit my top speed to that suggesed by Porsche. To me the point of the trip is skiing, not road racing. Have fun on the slopes, and leave the 130-140 stuff for the track.

You will definitely ruin the aerodynamics of your Porsche with the ski tips pointing frontward - don't do it! It will slow you down by at least .00001 mph!

Although not skis I was able to do 120/130km/h (75/80mph) with my Thule box on the 991 roof rack.
There's no way I'd go over that speed as I think you'd lose a ton of aero and potentially rip the rack off the roof mounts. Years ago I had a Thule Rack rip off my roof doing 120km/h when I was driving head first into wind and the rivets were defective on the foot mount. 4 snowboards and 1 pair of skis destroyed, roof of car scratched where the foot pack pulled out and to top it off a semi truck drove over the rack in the middle of the highway.

I think you guys should be looking into those slimmer profile for the 911. That Thule box belongs on a mini van that aren't flying down the road 80mph. Slimmer profile ones will do just fine.

As for the OP, I agree with others who said to keep speeds within those recommended. It's not so much the effect on handling but what could happen when aerodynamic lift overpowers the mounts with potentially catastrophic results. To a semi, the loose debris is like a fly on an elephant, but if it had been a family minivan with kids, this could have been tragic.
