Walk out to your garage. Look very closely at your 458 (and feel free to take a picture of it for us to enjoy). GTS of any variety is a really good car, but a 458 is something special. I doubt I would ever make this trade.

I did this yesterday, took quick spin with one of my sons (I have twins) I guess this is another reason to go Porsche, the whole family can go on road trips together. The Porsche is more useful and pratical BUT the 458 is so good, I almost feel emotional sometimes when I drive it. I booked a testdrive at my dealer next saturday, we´ll see how I think the GTS is.
Attached a pic of the 458 this pic is taken after I lowered it 25mm and put 20mm spacers in the back.
I've had be a 458 coupe and spider. Fun cars. Great sounding. The GTS is less flashy, better daily driver and better infotainment. Plus mine is manual. My kids also fit in the back seats. Two very different cars.

I agree, I sold my 458 last year, but the GTS Targa is more practical for me for the reasons you state. With 3 kids I found I didn't get to drive the Ferrari much and I needed another daily driver. With the GTS I only need the one car for myself. I do think that everyone should take the opportunity to own a Ferrari at least once if they are able, but as a friend of mine told me, you date an Italian but marry a German.

I´m in the same position now, I really love the 458 but I can use the Porsche more i guess. I have to make a hard decision. I´ve also been in the Ferrari club, it´s hard to let go When I have driven the GTS and talked to the dealer I think I will be sold on the Porsche. In my mind I´m gonna drive the GTS more, to work sometimes, track days, spirited drives with the family.
I´ve speced a couple of GTS and I find it´s really hard to decide on the colour!!!! One day it´s Agate Grey but the day after it´s red!!! I think all of the GTS here looks stunning!!!
Yes Zunsports. The full leather espresso comes pretty loaded including full back seat etc. in leather.
That espresso leather with contrasting stitching is stunning.
Can I play too?
Sapphire Blue Metallic over Black / Bordeaux Red. "Odoption day" in the sun:
Overcast day:
Color of the Bordeaux Red is fairly balanced in this shot. It often appears far too hot in photos.
At 500 miles, I decided it was time to really get on it. Holy Sh**, Batman! I have not driven a Turbo or Turbo S since the 997's. Can't imagine what a 991.2 Turbo S must be like... .
