Because of the way it's installed, I was advised taking off the interior trim on a 991.2 is tough. So I've given up on paint for that. Instead of paint, I'm looking into the possibility of "vehicle wrap" to provide a different color for the trim.
Some pros - wide range of colors and it comes off, may not need to take out the trim.
Cons- apparently not widely done and may not cover completely.
Doesn't address your question; but, I thought I'd throw it in as something to think about in case the paint thing doesn't work out.

Is removal of center trim different on the .2 than the .1? Interiors look the same. Anyway, here is the removal instructions on the .1.

If all you are trying to remove is the trim around the gear selector and the lower console switches, you don't need a trim removal tool. Starting at the ashtray or storage cup end with the console arm rest lid open and up out of the way, use your finger tips gently pull up on the trim until the plastic fingers on the underside of the trim pop out of their receptacles. Work your way around the perimeter of the trim and gently pull where there is resistance and those fingers will pop out. Do this all of the way around the trim and you'll have it removed. If you want to remove other interior trim can't help you as I have never done it.
