This is a very nice way of doing it. Did you have to remove a liner or something that covers the screws? I think I will try to do it the same way.

I did the extended height armrest, it does take longer to do, but it's still relatively easy. I can do one in about 30 - 45 minutes.

For me the extended height armrest gives me better position on my Manual car. It wasn't really about being able to put more stuff in there.

No covers, just a Torx Tool and 8 screws. 5min - 10min max

I can't get the extended height one anyway because they dont make it in Carrera Red. So this is an easy choice for me.
