I tend to park in the same garages, my 2014 non pasm had no issues. My 2016 SPASM in those garages are a no go. For some reason all the garage entrances are much higher than street level. In addition, the angle from street to sidewalk is very steep as the sidewalks are level.

Interesting… it's that that front lip that scares me rather than the 10mm lower ride height. Found this scary image on another forum (that's an iPhone 5 apparently!).

Wish I'd saved the chart I saw listing all the different approach angles for each setup.

Get it! Wide body and spasm is leaps and bounds ahead of a norrow body car in terms of handling. No comparison. I have an spasm GTS and it's better on potholes and speed bumps than my wife's Maserati. What makes the 911 special is its handling. Don't miss out on the best aspect of owning one. No comparison vs a narrow body car non spasm car. Totally different car.

Btw: I was down in Franklin square recently and the lot was full of 911's rare birds too. No worries. Just take it easy on approaches. Just remembered The 991.2 has a lift kit. Better than gold.

I am not a fan of SPASM on my 991.1. However, since this will not be your DD and you're getting a 991.2 I think that SPASM is a no brainer in this case. On the 991.2 SPASM ride is compliant and the 10mm isn't going to change much of anything except approach angle. Go for it!

Went dealwr and took a look at some cars to compare. I think I'm going to do it. Does look good… especailly on the 4. will worry about the practicalities when it arrives. : )

By my rough measurements the drop in height plus the front lip means the leading edge is about 0.5-1" closer to the ground.

I took some (bad) photos… yellow car is SPASM.

Wow wonder which one is better 7" or 6". Should ask the wife first before you make the move. Seriously. Mine is 5 1/2". Off the floor.

Don't need to ask her if she'd prefer a stiffer ride.

Told the dealer I want to change to SPASM. Hope they can make it happen (PTS car, so build date isn't until March).

Thanks everyone.

You have to clarify the question because the choice could be 7".

Thanks to input here, my 991.2 C2S is coming with SPASM, despite a lot of extreme angles in SoCal.

However, having previously lived in NYC for a year, I would recommend against SPASM for NYC, unless you also spec the front axle lift.

Already sent the email to change it. 😬

Figure if I'm only using the car to get out of the city I'll be okay. 🎲🎲

I've posted my opinion before - this is a common question

No brainer if your roads are smooth, you track a lot or your main decision driver is looks when it's parked.

Try it first if you live in a city with steep angles or torn up roads - you may still find the handling improvements worth the compromise, but you may not like the city ride quality.

If you do have issues, add PDCC or the PASM upgrade from DSC sport, takes the edge off those thick bars rattling your fillings in pothole situations. I personally wouldn't spend the money and add the complexity of the front axle lift kit, but another solution for scraping anyway

Yeah. The stance is part of it for me. Thinking it'll look great with the wider hips of the 4S. Are the wheels also pushed out further (5mm?) as well the ride height being 10mm lower?

I'm going to try and take a look at a C4S with SPASM later today.
What part of Brooklyn?
