V1 Hardwire for 991.1 DIY, YouTube or Pics
Anyone have a link to a 991.1 hardwire for a V1 down to the passenger fuse box? I did it in my 535d but it would be great to have a DIY, a video or some picture (and I tried searching). Thanks!

I just did this install in my 991.1. Pretty straight forward since there's plenty of space between the headliner and roof. Check out matt@ obsessed garage. He's got a good diy for a gt3 which should be very similar if not the same.

I did this was an Escort to the driver's side, which I assume is similar... but I didn't take photos. Taking this route, the only place the wire was left visible was along the base of the A pillar since I didn't want to pop that, but it lies snugly up against it and is only visible to me if I think about it.
The only tricky part was figuring out how to remove the trim around the fuse box which is fairly easy once you know how it attaches, it just snaps off but not quite in an obvious way. I assume it does the same on the passenger side. If someone doesn't come up with a pictorial for you, I'll try to describe it better step-by-step and add some photos. I may be about to change detectors so if I do I'll document it this time.
Also FYI, the Blendmount people sell a wire tap to the mirror area that doesn't require splicing (just some clever inserts instead) if you'd prefer to take that route. You can get it regardless of whether you get a Blendmount mount or not.

Plenty of YouTube to install and hide wires, this is video on how to install dash cam and hide wires - same idea for RD

I've tried Blendmount's Mirror Tap on both my 2017 Targa 4S and my 2017 Cayenne S eHybrid without success by my installer. Had to return it both times. Their mounts are impeccably machines and second to none.

What year is your car? We called the Blendmount people when we tried to install in the 2017 Targa and were told by them that it wasn't compatible. Every time he plugged the detector in to the mirror tap it triggered an ongoing laser alert.

Sorry to drag this back up, but any updates for the 991.2s?

I'm curious as well. After swearing up and down I would never buy another Valentine, I'm thinking of V + ALP in my incoming Targa since Escort has done nothing to improve the 9500ci in years (as far as I know).
And i have to admit the direction and count # are nice to have...

I am not crazy about the Blendmount in the Porsche frankly. In my other cars
I have the detector mounted in the upper left corner of the windshield. Much less noticable. Also wiring is then an easy run to the fusebox in most cars.

They have some nice hidden behind the bumper radar units out there that work with ALP (Radenso and Net Radar) that you should look at. If you want to keep your V1, update it to latest software from Valentine (if you have an old unit) and buy V1 BT dongle and get YaV1 to synch to your smartphone.
I'm looking for a new (current) system with whatever I end up with. The main + of the V1 is direction/count.
I looked into Stinger but just won't pay that much.
I'm not very tech savvy and keep my phone in my pocket (iPhone 6), not mounted in sight. I get very few calls.
Had the 9500ci display mounted in-line on steering column with the (very well made) housing from Benchmark in WA but they didn't answer my last email.
I have a few months...

My new 991.2 is leased, so I'd rather not do a big complicated install on this one. I've had a V1 all along for my other vehicles. It falsed something crazy. I sent it in for the "upgrade" (really they just send you a new one at a reduced price in exchange for your old one) and the falsing is MUCH improved. I just ordered another for my 991.2 along with SAVVY. I don't really want to use my phone as part of the system if I don't have to. I can always buy the BT dongle later if needed. I use an iphone and YaV1 is Android-only, as I understand it.
