@Hurricane thank you bro, my thoughts exactly. Especially the spec I came across. Th guy was on the way to trade it in on a GT3 touring. Another fav! Lucked out, again. Got my 993 in 2014. I don’t know if a mutual fund would’ve done as well, not that that is the reason to have these toys, but it sure helps justify things.

I agonized over selling my '95 993 that I'd owned for 17 years when I bought the Carrera T in 2018. I loved that car, and had taken great care of it -- modding a RS suspension, LW RS Flywheel, and tune, but couldn't justify 2 911s. I am glad for my time with it, but the Carrera T is a much better car in almost every respect, especially ergonomically. 23 years of forward development will do that. The only thing I miss is the "chainsaw ripping through a pillow" sound of the 3.6L in 3rd at 6800 RPM :-). But the 3.0T makes some good noises too.

You can also have sport cars with different purposes! I own a '72 Targa which is awesome on an open mountain road in the summer, but not great on highways and obviously I don't drive it in winter. Therefore I bought a 996 Carrera two years ago which is great in summer or winter, rain or sunshine. I can park it on the street, use it every day, so it brings me a lot of joy. But it doesn't scratch the "vintage 911" itch as much as the '72. So they complement each other nicely. Now though, I've started to develop an itch for a third 911, ideally a 3.2, that would be a little more usable on highways than the Targa. I test drove a 993 this week, but found it oddly boring to drive. Anyway, just wanted to point out that there are reasons to have multiple 911s.

Of course. Ask yourself, how easy is it to find a low mileage, mint, one-owner 993? If I absolutely had to sell one, my 991.1 with all the right options would go even though I lucked into a new car as a second owner. Also a rare find. But the 993 is a keeper!

Well, the advantage owning a 911 is that the ROI is not only financial :-)

Agreed, I have been down this road of considering having multiple 911s to serve different purposes. Ideally, I would need to add a 997.2 Turbo and a 991.2 Touring to complete my 911 collection but I don't think the wife would agree :-D

I know it’s just a few trim changes, unique wheels, and a special paint job, but man, the details in the 50th anniversary really work for me. Just a beautiful, special car, inside and out. Congratulations!!!

991 is for summer and the 993 is for winter.

love them both for how they compliment each other.
