2016 991.1 black edition 4 vs 2017 991.2
Hi Guys
Another challenge here, think i've narrowed it now to two new 911s.
1) 2016 991 4 Black Edition:
-specs: PDK, sport mirrors, entry and drive, sport chrono, glass sunroof, PDLS, red seat belts and red gauges. Sticker $110, Selling price $96.
2) 2017 991 RWD:
-specs: PDK, PSE, Sport Chrono, ventilated seats, Bose, glass sunroof, 20" S wheels, and a few other goodies. Sticker $108.5, Selling Price $102.5.
Is this a no brainer in favor of the 2017?
thanks!!!!

Nothing like comparing apples and bananas.
If they were both AWD I would say the 2017 .... but as compared I would say 2016.

thanks.
does the AWD "4" make a huge difference in driving dynamics and ability to drive in 4 seasons? (I'm on Philly..so get snow).
plan for either would also be to have small SUV.

Three Wheelin'
Rx7owner, I DD a '98 C4S Aero out on the Main Line for 18 months straight. For the northeast, I'd say AWD is the way to go if you want to avoid having two vehicles. Just get good snow tires, clear bra the front (salt is the enemy of paint!) and recognize you can't drive anywhere when snowfall is higher than your clearance. My vote's on the .1 NA car, but we all have our biases. All Porsches rule so good luck with your search!

I'm so picky will be hard to get a cpo/used one
is the choice of 991.2 over 991.1 4 a function of bang for buck with the turbo config?
to build a similar 991.2 4 as the 2016 black edition looks like it would be close to 120k msrp.
from a value perspective either choice better or both bad?

If you are talking about a base 4, not an 4S, then no contest. Take the 991.2. A base 991.1 is sloooooow compared to a base 991.2 which is as quick as an S 991.1....if not quicker. It's a fantastic car.

I got the 2016 black edition on CPO. 991.1. 7k miles. Had almost everything I wanted. The previous owner added a rear carbon diffuser, different exhaust tips, and a sharkwerks exhaust. A shy under 87k.

Hate to say it, but I'd take the .2 RWD all day. The non-S engine in the .1's feels underpowered to me (sorry guys, just my opinion) and paired with the AWD, it'll feel that much slower.
The .2 chassis is improved, the PCM is two steps on, and the turbo is plenty powerful.
I love my N/A 3.8 but given the choice of the 3.4 or the new base 3.0 turbo, I'm going turbo all day.
Would also suggest to look at a CPO S. I was VERY picky at what I wanted S, Cabrio, RWD, 7 MT with full leather that wasn't black....and yet I found it
