Thanks to everyone for all of this great information! It's certainly great to know this could be programmable. Now all I have to do is figure out who knows how to perform this in the US (I am located in Los Angeles)! But it's definitely great to know - thanks.

Larry, you're probably talking about this company in Germany: http://www.aa-tuning.de/
I also contacted them but they didn't follow up with me...

i have done the shifting reverse and pdk fine tuning with a&a - and very happy with the result.
have changed :
+/- shifting reverse soooo much better now
- gear shift now much faster - gear shift delay is set to 0 (very noticeable)
kickdown in manual mode is deleted ( i hate this)
would recomend this for everybody with cobb accesport.

Additional info on A&A programming for those interested....
You need to pull the TCU from the car and send to A&A. If you are at all hesitant to ship to Germany, you can make arrangements to ship to a guy that A&A has traveling in the US out of either a Washington (state) or Florida address.
The turn-around can be rather quick, so that you may only be un-driveable for a week. Your purchase entitles you to ONE flash.... Each flash (to revert, make changes, or tweak what you've selected) is a separate purchase. You don't have the ability to make changes to your preference for the purchase price.
NOTE: The reprogramming can be reversed -- but has to be done by flashing with PIWIS. You could send back to A&A if you are trying to revert to OE settings (in the case of returning to stock for lease return), but probably quicker and cheaper to go to dealer and just tell them to revert to stock for your cars factory code. A&A for obvious reasons does NOT supply any flash software or their product on a USB stick, so any changes to the mappings must be done by A&A. Meaning, if you don't like a setting they've made you can't tweak it like you could mappings of other "tunes" or suspension settings like you could with a DSC unit, etc. The message: Make sure what you ask for is what you want, or if not be comfortable with possibly sending the TCU from your PDK back and forth to A&A a few times to get it to your preference.
TIP: A thought for those thinking of doing this --- you might want to consider buying a used or second OE TCU, cloning your existing or factory TCU, and then keeping the OE unit while you send the clone off to A&A. Or, just send both to A&A, and they will do the clone for you.... This way, you can very quickly swap the TCU out in the future, for stock or at least keep the car operating while one of the TCUs are off to A&A for reprogramming. I think the TCU is only a couple hundred $$$.[CORRECTION: As Larry points out the OEM stock part from Germany is $600+. I must have been thinking of something else entirely, since I just recently sourced the TCU from a salvage yard for $500.]
I think someone else posted this, but just in case, here is a sampling of what you can modify:
Would love to hear from more of you out there in the U.S. market that have made the purchase....

I think someone else posted this, but just in case, here is a sampling of what you can modify:
- Adjustment of switching points - enable a higher max. Speed (Nmax)
- Adjusting the speed limitation
- Adjustment of switching times (eg switching time reduction)
- Adjusting the reaction time of the shift paddles (shortening)
- Reprogramming of paddles
- Reprogramming the lever (direction +/-)
- Cancellation / change of the torque limiter
- Adjusting the clutch pressure (no slipping clutch, especially the turbo)
- Deactivation / modification of the forced upshift in different modes
- Deactivation / downshifting at kickdown prevent in different modes
- Adaptation of the switching operations of individual driving behavior
- Free Launch Launch Control for vehicles without Chronosport and Chronosport Plus
- Activation Launch Control in all modes (Manual, Normal, Sport, Sport Plus)
overall improved switching behavior (eg no shocks, smoother transition when switching)
Would love to hear from more of you out there in the U.S. market that have made the purchase....
