Help! Newbie with a lease
Hi,
Never leased. Was patiently waiting to get a used 991.1 but was always a step or two too late. Now thinking of leasing. What do you think about this offer:
2017 C2 991.2
MSRP: 124530
Sale price: 115000
27 months/5000 mi
Residual 69%
MF 0.00265
Monthly 2154.78
Money due at closing 4170
36 months/5000 mi
Residual 64%
MF 0.00251
Monthly 1872
Money due at closing 3885
39 months/5000 mi
Residual 62%
MF 0.00247
Monthly 1814
Money due at closing 3827
I am thinking the residuals are too low.
Dealer says MF is from Porsche financial. How do I get buy MF 0.002 I ask he said no.
Thanks for the help.

If you still want used go to the HFS thread there are many good cars in there.

The residuals seem correct (they're fixed and straight from PFS, so you can actually ask the rep to show it to you in their book). If they refuse, walk away. I did this twice with LA dealerships and had them calling me back within 5 minutes. Screw that.
Otherwise, yes, the MF is a bit on the higher side. I believe the PFS mandated rate is .002, and obviously dealers charge more than this. You *can* negotiate it lower, but it depends on your negotiation skills and how well your salesman plays along.

Thanks for the replies. I was lurking about the HFS thread for 1-1.5 months with no luck. Still lurking, but I'm tempted by a 991.2 that is in stock at a local dealer.
I did "the math" as was posted in another thread.
The month payments for the 36 month option should be $1572. I was quoted $1872. What gives?

One - think that you are getting a good price.
Decision is to lease is a "religious" one - I like to lease; keeps the choice to either trade up or keep a car that you love after you have lived with it. If you are thinking about keeping the car after the term - it becomes a math equation - 12 months x the difference in lease payments compared to 62% vis 69%. Guessing that it will be pretty close.
Good luck

First off, this is a base with an MSRP of $124k? I'd love to see the build sheet on this car!
Second, an 8.3% discount seems really good especially on the .2? I've not been able to get anything near that. Is it just particular cars or am I not as good a negotiator as I think I am?

Based on the numbers you posted I calculate the monthly payments as:
27 months = $1609.28
36 months = $1469.27
39 months = $1443.77
The above are based on the horrible MF you listed. My numbers do not include tax, but that would be about $150 a month.
No idea where your dealer came up with the monthly payment amount. Looks about $400 too much per month to me.
