Does anyone know why my new '16 Cayman GTS 3.4L Sport Exhaust sounds so much better than my 991.1S 3.8L Sport Exhaust?

My 991.1S has exhaust envy.....

 

You're sitting a lot closer to it, plus getting more engine sound having the engine as your seat back rest.

I think it's a combination of many factors.

Could be the 3.4 as well giving a higher pitch sound?? I'm sure others will chime in!

Drove the Cayman GTS at a Porsche driving event once, and it did sound superb! Music to ones ears. Long live the NA! The GTS is a keeper.

In the Cayman, what you're hearing is mostly intake noise, right behind your ear. And the GTS Cayman has a symposer as well. That said, I think the 3.4 motor sounds better than the 3.8. My neighbor's C2 sounds much better than my C2S.

 

There is also some slight ECU mapping differences on the GTS that accentuate the sound. Hence the reason the GTS sounds a bit more aggressive than the base or S despite having the same PSE system on it.

I can certainly help spice up your 991.1 system. Our Center Muffler Bypass X-Pipe will do the trick
