Default Mike Hendricks no longer with Suncoast

I've been buying parts from Mike Hendricks at Suncoast for a while.

Was about to buy a 991.2 steering wheel, even placed the order. However just learned that he no longer works there and they won't honor the price he quoted me about 6 weeks ago. They raised the price by 43%.

End of a chapter.

Anyone recommend another parts supplier who has the lowest prices?

Bummer to hear. Did he give you a quote by e-mail or just over the phone?

Just wondering if you sent them the past e-mail communications the price would be honored.

^^^ try them. have saved me $$$$$. even bought .2 wheel which was couple hundred $$ cheaper than anywhere else.

FYI, Porsche changes prices often. Only way to get locked in is place the order. What the price is today, can change (and it does).

Yeah I sent them the written quote. They still refused.

Mike had quoted me $995. They still offer the multifunction .2 wheel on their website for 995. However for the non multifunction they are charging $1422. It makes no sense since it is the same wheels with no button. Should be less not more.

Porcshe pricing doesn't make sense sometimes (most of the time). They charge what they can get.

There is less demand and make less of the non MF wheel, and it's more $$$. I paid quite a bit too for GT Sport with no SC, no MF, and only PDK paddles. Not made in big numbers and they charge more $$$$.

I agree. Normal logic would imply that non-multifunction wheels should be less. If the pricing is now correct, a possible issue may be a sudden large demand for the non-multifunction wheel for people wanting to do 991.1 upgrades, or there may be a manufacturing issue. The 991.2 wheels ARE good-looking pieces of hardware.

Both Sunset and Sonnen typically beat Suncoast pricing anyway, even before any recent price changes.

For any service-related parts (plugs, filters, belts, pads, etc), Rockauto is hard to beat. Not going to have a .2 steering wheel though!

Suncoast should really weigh in here. These discussion boards have made them and they could break them as well.

My impression is that Suncoast is coasting on Mike's efforts here. Theyre going to lose a lot of business.

The suggestions above were bang on target.

Just so you guys know, a "quote" is just that, a "quote" until it's an inputted placed ORDER.

Mistakes can be make and Porsche pricing does change. In this case, he quoted the wrong wheel or it was mistaken as to what the buyer needed. As we all know, there as MANY different versions.

Regardless ..... Throwing Suncoast under the bus for a quote this Mike gave, blah, blah, is really unfair. Seeing he's not even there anymore.

Suncoast has been around forever and was the pioneer in online and discount parts ordering when dealers (who most still), bend you over for parts pricing.

We're lucky to have Suncoast, who has brought many other parts dealers into the competitive market. Porcshe owners often get it stuck to them as we all know. One of my local dealers is like 50%-100% more than some of these guys. Talk about gouging!

That's my take on it.
