991.2 Base is good enough for me, the engine doesn't feel like a turbo and I like the lowdown torque. Cars are too fast anyway for most roads or street use. I have MT, so probably wouldn't need the extra HP of the S for the street. If I was to track the car, I would get a S in that case with PDK, not MT. I already have a track car, so for me the Base with MT is fine as a daily driver, and mucho fun. PSE should be much louder, though.

I think I'll be fine with the base also. For speed, I compare everything to my '14 Shelby GT500, which is a 3. Something car, so at 3.6, the C2 should be just fine. My concern is the shifter on the vehicle. I haven't driven the 7mt, but I'm feeling pretty spoiled by a Dinan shift kit on a 335i, an MGW shift kit on the Shelby, and of course, the stock shifter on the GT4. I greatly value driving dynamics, but to me, the way the mt shifts is a huge part of that. The local dealer simply doesn't spec any manuals anymore, so the chances of a test drive are slim.

The rear end on the 991.2 4 is much nicer looking with wraparound light and slightly wider stance. ***. Think I have to go either C4 or C4S.

I'm like some of you who just want the most power and highest tech but don value that over driving feel. I also have a question which I'm sure has been answered a hundred times on this forum but couldn't find it easily. I don't value ability to drive in snow or rain because I have a truck for inclement weather. Does the 4 handle better than rear-wheel drive for twisty, dry back country road?
Ive owned 3 991s...14 C2S...15 GTS cab...17 4S Cab. Hands down 17 4S Cab is best all around of the three. With more power, I want more traction regardless of road condition. Wide body 911s simply look better too.

I do like the 17 4S Cab..... but it was a US$ 60.000 difference for me and didn't want to go that high on the price of the car. Plus I got at the same time a Cayenne E-Hybrid for the wife so there wasn't much change left.... hahaha

Well to be honest my current base 991.1 is PLENTY of car for me and I fall in love with it on every drive. But it is a lease that I will give up in about 16 months if not sooner.

I'm sure I would also love a 991.2 base. But....

When I spec out a base 991.2 vs 991.2S the price difference is "only" $17,000. For that I get more power, bigger brakes, RWS, PDCC, and SPORT PASM. Seems like a reasonable price to pay (in the Porsche world) for those extra features.

Isn't PDCC an option on the S?

I purchased a MT 991.2 S with the only extra cost option present being a sunroof. I could have purchased a base model with more options for the same price, which with a discount, was right at my price point roughly 100k. I preferred more power and torque to more creature comforts. The more I drive it, the more am I convinced that I made the correct decision, for me and my preferences.

Yes it is. As is RWS and SPORT PASM.

If I could get all of those on the base I might forego the extra hp and bigger brakes and stick with a base.

Right, but from reading rkwfxd's post it looked like he was saying those things are included in the C2S.
