Default Air Cooled Addition to the 991 Stable

Curious if any of you are also air cooled owners, and which model you own in addition to your 991. I debated getting a 993 about a year ago before my 991, but finally got a build allocation on a 991 GTS and have now had the car for about 10 months. Could not be happier with the 991 GTS. Unreal car.
Since I've owned the GTS, I've officially been bitten by the 911 bug, and my desire for an air cooled 911 still persists. I've bought coffee table books, 1:18 scale models.. press photos from the 80s.. Has this been the case with anyone else? The look of the 911 3.2 Carreras of the 87-89 vintage has really grown on my eye, and I really want an air cooled 3.2 car. I've officially been in the market for about two months now, look through classifieds daily, and am building this database of knowledge in my head that MUST be put to good use. lol
Love to hear your stories of air cooled purchases, and see pics of your 991+air cooled 911 stable.

**Also, if anyone cares to chime on the 3.2 Carrera coupe as a first A/C car, or has one (with the tail) for sale, please DM me! Love one <75K miles in most any color than red or black. Cheers!

1996 C4S. Owned it 14 years. 36k miles. The Polar Silver color makes a nice mate to my Rhodium Silver 991S.

I also have a 1996 C4S and 991 not a GTS but real close a ( 911-50 ) and love driving both of them. They are the best of old school and the best of new school Porsche. :-)

I would love to get a 993 or better yet a '72/3 Carrera. These are looking more and more like a good investment in addition to being a fun car,
Jim

I'm really thinking about getting a 964 or 993. My original plan was to trade up to a 991 Turbo s or GT3 in the next couple of years. But now I'm very tempted to keep my 991.1 C4S a bit longer and add a 964 or 993 as a long term keeper.

I use to enjoy working on older cars, but I haven't had time or an older car to work on in years. But now that my son is almost 8 years old, it would be nice to have a older 911 that we could occassionaly work on together.

Devil's advocate here. I had a low mile 993 for a couple years and found it to be a real headache. It was built with ancient technology by the time the 993 was produced......fit and finish was bad, AC was bad, and it was a losing battle trying to keep the car in tip top shape, which is how I expect my cars to be. So if you're ok with some imperfections and simply want to enjoy the feel, the smell, and the mechanical nature of the air cooled engine, go for it. But if you want to use the AC and stereo, and enjoy a nice interior without peeling or sagging panels with poor fitment, you might think twice. Especially when you compare to what you can buy with $60 grand nowadays.

This is the one I let get away. '89 Carrera that was lightly hot rodded--sounded great, handled really well and had a look and feel that the new ones can't duplicate (and I wouldn't want them to). For spring and fall canyon driving along with DEs, it was perfect. And just look at it, it's not a long-hood, but the 911s through 1989 are about perfect (especially when you take off the rear rubber bumper things).

I have a 1986 911 that I've owned since 1998. And last year I added a Macan S as the family car. (Yes, they are all metallic grey.)
