Air Cooled Addition to the 991 Stable
#16
Well I've had a few. 1976 911 - I'd stay away from the early 2.7 (1974-1977) versions. A lot of oil leaks and not a lot of power. Had a targa and it leaked in the rain but I did like having vent windows. 1984 Carrera - great car - my wife is still depressed that I sold it - White and can-can red with black accents. Great car, oh I already said that. 915 tranny no problems whatsoever. Gearing is quicker than the 950 tranny that is in the 1987-1989 cars. I sold it in 1996 and I heard it is somewhere on the north shore of Chicago. Anybody here? Want to sell it? Last air-cooled car 1997 993 twin turbo. Fast yes! drives like a truck - somewhat however, I replaced the hydraulic assist cylinder for the clutch, didn't drive it for a year and then brought it out this year - also did an oil change using Porsche's 10W-60 oil. This thing is great. It's like a new car now. The wife and I just love the sounds it makes. Recommendation - Buy any 911 but the 2.7's and you'll be in heaven. Learn to drive it fast on a track and you'll find the best mental relaxation around. Mark near Chicago

I have an '89 Cabriolet that has been in the stable for the last 9 years. Absolutely love this car and driving git in southern California. A very different car from the 991, but fantastic just the same.
Unfortunately, it is time to sell her as I being transferred to TX.

88 Cab in addition to the 911/50. The old cab puts more smiles on my face and has a more distinct "soul."
