991.2 C4 or C2S
Hi,
Still trying to decide on a model. Any thoughts on a C4 base vs C2S? The C4 with similar options would be about $5,000 less than the C2S. The car will likely be a summer only driver, possibly early spring and late fall driving, but it would be put away for the bulk of the snowy season.
Thanks.

Daily driving, including rain? Maybe the C4.
But ya gotta love the C4 hips, lower rocker trim, and rear light bar. Saving $5 is nice too, but you'll make that up on resale retention of the "S". You have a tough, but easy decision, since both are great.

Based on that, I'd say the C2S.

Also, any thoughts on solid sunroof vs glass? I'm selecting either white on black or GT Silver on black. From the pictures, white seems to look better with a white roof. Thoughts?

I really don't care about resale value since I never buy a car with that in mind. I'm going to be putting 20k miles a year on the car and will keep it for 9 years. I don't care how much it is worth after that. Hopefully nothing ....because I have wrung on the fun out of it.
For your situation, as long as you can't tell the difference in the hips, get the S.

I purchased a 991.2 C4 in April and I'm extremely happy with it. I really didn't consider a C2S because I intend to drive my car throughout the Chicago winter with snow tires (as I have done with my previous 996 C2 and 997 C4) and in my experience, the AWD versions do better in the inclement weather. I do love the wide hips and the rear light bar. That said, if I didn't need the AWD, I'd rather have the C2S.
My C4 is GT silver with glass sunroof. I really like the contrast of the silver with the black sunroof and black rear grill, but it's obviously subjective. If you decide on a C4, I recommend the painted side skirts, which I regret not ordering.

I went with the C2s with all the performance/handling goodies. Plenty fast and I really can't imagine the C4 going much faster around corners. My car is a weekend fun car, so if the weather is bad it will stay in the garage. Two wheel drive is fine for that. But if it was a daily driver then I would go for the C4.

Take the c4 for an extended test drive. I was still accidently getting it to the point of kick down but found the c4 power delivery to be very smooth. It is a great package and a very good value.
