OMG. for a BASE car? These are supercar stats. Now imagine what will happen once Tuners polish up their flash tunes, downpipes etc.

Yeah the 991.2 is a great sports car. I have the S version and am impressed by the car every time I drive it.

and Joe, yes, I think those are insane figures. it is a 100K car though.

I plan on getting a 4 or 4s in a couple of years once the daycare payment for the little one is over.

Carrera BASE 0-60 in 3.4? Did C&D test a 4S with PDK and Sports Chrono? That's gotta be 3.0 to 60.

This is true. I have a 991.1 C2S and it was well over 100k, but never felt it was a "supercar". BUT it is one of the best all around true sports when considering price, practicality, daily drivability, performance, prestige and build quality.

I'm not surprised by C&D's results. I went from a 991.1 4S with PDK to a 991.2 4S and notice a significant seat of the pants difference. Can't wait for some independent testing on the S.

Hey Tango, good idea! Cuz as soon as they're out of preschool the little crumb-crunchers stop costing you anything.

ha ha, indeed. I live in the city, but in a neighborhood with an excellent public (free) grade school. So i just have 13 years to worry about high school and college, but those are already budgeted . The waiting is more to appease my wife...and because I still enjoy driving my ancient BS, which is still in perfect shape (I'm OCD ). I may get one of these 991.2 or wait and get a new 992, with that oft rumored hybrid setup.

3.4! I can picture the C & D guys rubbing their eyes in bewilderment when they saw that number.

Really impressive performance. A lightly equipped C2 is one of the sweet spots in the 911 range right now.

^^^ yeah. What's crazy is that C&D state the new BASE 991.1 is quicker and faster than the 991.1 GTS. Putting all issues aside re the subjectivities of the motor (sound, linearity, lag, etc.), that is moving the ball forward by quite a bit.

How similar is the PDK in the 991.2 C2 to the one in the 991.1 turbo (which has shown to be quite robust)?

^^^ I *believe* the PDK is the same hardware wise for all p cars. I would think it makes little sense to make different transmissions for different model cars. Thus, make one to withstand the Turbo torque and will be good with all other p-cars.
