Which 991 would you buy ??
Trying to decide between two pre-owned 991s in my area.
First chopice- is a 2013 Carrera base w/manual transmission currently at 10,900 miles and 3 months left on original Porsche Warranty priced at $63k from private dealer. Second choice is 2012 Carrera Cabriolet w/manual transmission with 43,000 miles but has CPO thru May 2018 priced at $61k from local Porsche dealer. Both are cosmetically 9.5/10 and both have excellent service records.
Which do you think is the better choice ? Thanks

Base manual with 40k less miles, 30k miles is about 3 years worth of driving.
Also Hardtops in the 911 world seem to have better resale.
Base 991 911 with a manual will be a very desirable enthusiasts car.
Finally these cars are super reliable, especially in a base car with minimal options, I wouldn't be worried about owning a base 991 without warranty.

Firstly, do you want a cab or a coupe? I mean, they are quite a bit different, IMO. If you want the top to go down, doesn't matter how good a deal the coupe is, the top's not going down. And if you want the top to specifically NOT go down, then vice versa -- only a coupe's going to work for you.
Or, if you fall into that strange camp that doesn't care and would be happy either way, then you still need the coupe because cabs are about 10k more new than coupes, and while that delta erodes a bit over time and actually reverses when they become old (ala '86 Carrera 3.2), for 991s you'll still pay a healthy premium for a cab and if you don't care, why buy it.
To wit, here you're getting a year older car with 30k more miles on it but essentially paying the same price. If you don't want the canvas roof, no since in giving up the age and the miles for something that's not important for you.
