You talking about the Vorsteiner one?

I feel ya larry. I'm just saying usually facelifts only change bumpers lights smaller pieces like that. I would be suprised if the dimensions of the engine cover or fenders changed, but who knows. Hopefully we'll find out soon.

I for one would love it to fit ... its a really nice compromise between the 'std' and ducktail ... I'd pay a couple of grand to get one and paint it ...

It was wasn't a brand name. Some guy that made aftermarket pieces. Possibly on 6Speed? Or here? Showed a prototype, but never saw anything after that. Looked very similar to this.

I agree, much better than the standard one. Also for those not wanting something bigger. Surprised the 911R didn't come with this or something similar.

It wasn't Vorsteiner, and it *was* on RL. The guy wasn't a big name shop owner or anything.

IIRC, RL took him down because of some issues with advertising. The thread was totally deleted and his posts disappeared.

I clearly remember this because I was super interested in that spoiler.

+100. I would have totally expected the R to have a beautiful spoiler or design in the rear. They could have added a sexy gurney flap or similar spoiler.

I was thinking the same thing. If this was in the works when they were designing the 911R I suprised they didn't include it. Subtle enough that it would of worked well on that car.

Ha. Well I guess I'll stop trying different keyword searches.

Larry, if you look .. I just tried looking closely.

The rear spoiler line that runs with the rear quarter panels above the tails seems to be the current dimensions.

What's throwing us off, is that this new spoiler is cupped and actually overhangs the bottom edge. You can see the point on the spoiler where it sits above the corner of the tails, it splits into two paths. One continuing that same bottom line, and the second one curving up where the lip overhangs.

Hope that makes sense.

I guess we will wait till it comes available from Suncoast and if it's returnable I'll take a shot at the retrofit

I think it will fit. The only question is whether it will attach to the same mounting points on top of the spoiler mechanism.

You'll be able to buy it, just like any other part eventually.

From the look of it, it appears that only the center portion of the wing overhangs the rear bumper. It tapers off to come into line with the rear quarter panels. I would doubt that Porsche would retool or re-design the body just for the wing in this case. But anything is possible I guess
