Default Unpainted (black) front lip

my GTS has seen one too many declines and i have decided it's probably time to replace that part on the front lip. question is, what are you guys paying for this item fully painted? i have been quoted at 300 for the paint, 350 for R&I, and haven't yet got a price on the bumper itself. it seems way too steep. also, if anyone has pictures of the unpainted front lip, can you share?

thanks in advance

We have the front spoiler lips for the 991 GTS (Sport Design Aerokit) in stock and ready to ship out. Well below what you were quoted too. Let us know if we can help!

I bought 2x of these from suncoast and had them painted locally by a Porsche cert shop for $300e.a, as for R&I ... are you kidding, it takes about 1m each to do either DIY.

p.s
I actually got the aerokit cup lip instead because I think its more attractive than the SD lip ...

p.p.s
If you get one, get two and have them both painted at the same time, for future use.

Wow your lip has taken a bit of a beating... I have the Aerokit lip and it is certainly scraped as well but all of it is on the underside luckily. Frankly it is surprising given where I live/work plus the fact that my car is now lowered. Famous last words I'm sure...

That said I wish there was a black plastic/rubber replacement option similar to the GT3 front lip... smart that it is a consumable piece on the GT cars vs a guaranteed to scrape painted piece on the Sport Design/Aerokit cars.

Also agreed your labor quote is ridiculous, any good body shop should include the removal/replacement as part of the painting quote.

My wife is to be thanked for some of those. Anyway. I guess this thing comes in grey not in black so that may not be too bad of an option. I suppose I'm just going to order the raw product from suncoast and then next step will be figuring out how to replace.

Are there tools needed?

Just a suggestion, spray soapy water along the connection seam to help the tabs pop out easier.

I'm in the same boat at some point.

I wonder how much it would be to wrap it in a vinyl that's close in color vs painting.

short of closing the door or turning the key, pulling the spoiler lip is about the simplest thing to do on the car ... its attached by a bunch of tabs and a couple of press studs ... it literally takes less than a minute to remove and install and toolwise almost none ... to charge $350 for R&I is daylight robbery IMO.

I removed my bumper cover on a 2016 to install rennline screens. I could see the tabs holding the lip are well fastened. It's difficult to imagine removing the lip by just pulling without some kind of tool to pry the tabs loose.

Shop around for part, paint and install. That's where the potential savings are.

The body shop painting it should be able to install it for a very reasonable cost.

These are $100K++ cars. Just do it right. Some things are what they are. After all, these cars aren't the most economical purchase from the onset. Higher maintenance and ownership costs come with them.
