I read most of the thread so apologies if I missed something... My car has the full bolt on package for the 991.1S and I have some friends with GTS's. With FVD headers, IPD plenum, BMC filters and FVD tune, my car is definitely quicker than a GTS. I have a friend with a GTS + Tune. My car is quicker low/mid range than his but up on the top end he definitely pulls; this is triple digit speeds though. No matter what you do bolt on wise, you just can't move as much air as a GTS because of the internal work and the valved/active plenum. That being said... you can get the X51 kit.
Caveat - I don't have experience with the dungeon intake runners but that could give an S the top end advantage if they do what is claimed.
Also, yeah... a 3.0tt car with a tune is faster - duh. And?

Just like they are faster on top end because of internal changes, you are gonna be faster than them because of the headers. There is no getting around that extra torque you get from the headers.
Would love to add bolt ons on my GTS when I can actually drive it more.
very informative thread

Interesting thread. Im coming from turbo cars and I recently bought a 991.1 S. I knew right away there wasnt much room for added power without breaking the bank. Then again once you add that power its not mind blowing. My plan is to keep it stock and if someone really wants to drag race ill just borrow the wifes tesla lol

higher RPM launch control, Eliminates kick down, car acts like manual at stops (no forward creep if you take foot off the brake, still retains hill-hold), Neutral or "drift kick" by pulling on both paddles, far less clutch slip on Full throttle upshifts, and like Larry said, biggest change for me reverse PDK shifting when using PDk Shifter.
