I guess what happens in Vegas does NOT really stay in Vegas huh? Next time its valet all the way! Or a rental.

So yeah…finally got my car back from the dealer after an having an Akrapovic Ti Exhaust installed along with PSE control retrofit and Rennline front grilles this Fri and decided to take the car to Vegas this weekend for an event I was attending. 1st road trip in the 991 and it was an absolute blast on the drive up. Stable at highway speeds and plus some. Sat radio was great and power was everywhere. I also had BMC filters and and IPD plenum added too while it was in so you can imagine the mood I was in. I was very happy with all that was done…but was cautious as never had a P-car in Vegas so I parked it in valet initially.

All was well up until today when I left the self parking at the Bellagio this AM. Had parked there as I didn't need my car that evening and was directed to self parking since I was leaving early in the AM to avoid excessive parking fees. Then this AM one of their employees backs into my left front end as I was waiting to exit! Yes! I was shocked! I sat in the exit lane after merging left out of the self-park structure and dude in a Jeep Cherokee backs right into me! Line was only 3 cars long...but lady ahead of him was taking a minute to get thru and guess he got impatient cause he next thing you know I see reverse lights as he just throws it in gear and starts backing up! Hit the horn...and throw PDK into reverse (I was in drive as I should have) to try to get out of his way. Dude kept going…with me on the horn and everything! Says..I didnt know you were there or behind me! How about looking...exactly why I had the rear view camera retrofitted into my car in Apr [CPO car without it or parking sensors] so I'd KNOW if there was something in my blind spot that I may miss or the periphery. SA its called in the military..more drivers should use it! Reversed my car after he it out of the way and where the parking lot/security folks told me so it wouldn't block the now one laned outbound flow and they coned me off. 110 degree heat and an accident really sucks but I must say the Bellagio folks were good and brought us water and made the process pretty prompt and flowed from report taking to picture taking and exhange of info and copies very well. Best part of the day!

Turns out he is a worker at the Bellagio..and according to the security guys wasn’t even supposed to be parking in the guests lot! Had just finished his shift and was headed out by his admission. Hotel security took a report but said since it was private property Las Vegas PD didn't take one. Guess that helps me in that I won't see this hit Carfax but even hotel security said to me "you don't look too happy." No shyt! Was the ONLY time while there I didn’t use their valet too and right as I was headed out back to Phoenix! F Drive home was non-eventful and the car drove great!

SO there's front body damage to my bumper and front fender. Looks minor damage-wise to some. BUT overall car I do/can see a new front bumper in my future, new left headlight [mine has scratches on it from his bumper/chassis], and then car will re-alignment of the fender, bumper, lighting assembly, and hood which are now out of light as you can see in the pics. Full bumper re-spray too? Also had a Clear bra package done at purchase that will likely need to be redone. Anything else I am missing or need to think about from those who've been thru this before? Diminished value? I want all OEM parts and my car fixed right!

Can you believe the guy in the Jeep was like “ah that should buff out right?” Maybe I should ask for the upgraded Sports Design Front Bumper when the USAA adjuster talks to the body shop! What do you guys think?

Jeeze, sorry to hear. New front bumper for sure, and the lining up of the hood. Car is so low and SUV is so high that if you are close behind and the SUV driver looks our rear view mirror he cannot see you. Not an excuse in anyway, but the same thing almost happened to me - SUV driver could not see me by just looking out the rearview mirror. Why he did not hear you laying on the horn is beyond me.

Hope so...one of the service guys said when he saw pics he'd seen some bumpers with worse damage repaired (sanding and compounding I believe is what he had in mine). BS...not acceptable to me! Hope they don't try that on my car!
Yes no one was hurt but my heart and the bumper! He could have just kept on backing up thru my front end/windshield too I guess.
Yeah I will be send the casino a note saying how displeased I was with my stay. They even made me pay for the parking fee for that night! Jesus! Could have at least offered to comp that especially since dude was an employee who hit my car and had been parking in the wrong lot I was told (guest lot)!
Here you go...not the greatest pics...quick cell phone ones. I got Rennline front grilles done along with a 3rd center radiator install, Akrapovic Ti exhaust, PSE retrofit w/console and valve control, IPD Plenum installation, and went ahead and had the glass moon roof retrofitted and my hardtop sunroof swapped out. Pretty good bit of coin overall on mods but car was perfect! Till dude's Jeep came along.

New bumper, some paint install good as new... a bumper is no big deal. Plastic anyway so won't show on a paint meter nor if you sell will a dealer care. Just keep it off the carfax.

Parked way off at the end of the lot under a big light with only a couple cars in the adjacent spots, no one in my line, but a couple cars in the next line of stalls. Safe spot right?

Someone backed in and drove away. Doesn't look like much damage but bumper was cracked and impact broke off a small plastic inlet pipe on the rad compromising the cooling system rendering it pretty much useless. Managed to drive about 5km to the dealer just as the temp was starting to peak and a warning to stop driving just as I pulled into dealer lot.

Now after 2 paint matching attempts the colour is still way off and the bitching to the insurance provider and body shop continue . . .

Thanks man...appreciate it. Akra is great and sound is wonderbah! LOL Took it thru one of the tunnels going to McCarren and hit the PSE and listened to it bounce off the walls. Awesome sound!

Glass roof retrofit is interesting mod. Its a simple direct bolt on retrofit for the metal sunroof. I have it now sitting in my garage right now. BUT in order to do so you lose the rolling/motorized sunshade that comes with the OEM factory option moon roof. That may make such a change out non-palatable to some owners but I was okay with it. I had them go back to their detail shop and they added 5% nano and ceramic tint to the sunroof and it blocks out a great portion of the heat and filters some of the sunlight here in AZ. So its a worthwhile mod I think for me and one that I will enjoy. Also its reversible....easy bolt on to get it back to OEM sunroof as it came from the factory. Cost...not cheap. Glass roof from Porsche is about $2k and labor was just under 2hrs total charged to get the old one released, original seals removed and then motors serviced and the new one attached and new seals done.

Now to contemplate GT3 mirror swap or not and the GTS black rear engine cooling assembly. Hmm.....do I just paint mine of go for the OEM retro GTS ones?

I really feel for you, I had a similar incident take place this February, couldn't believe the person backed right into me. I honked and simultaneously tried to g.t.f.o.t.w. Lol
No dice, got rear quarter panelled t boned....ouch
