TPC Racing 991.2 Development Thread
Official TPC Racing 991.2 Development Thread
TPC Racing just recently took delivery of our Miami Blue 991.2 Carrera S. We will be updating this thread with our development progress on the platform. We encourage you to chime in with your experiences with the car, so we can do our best to develop products that address your needs and concerns. We'd like this thread to serve as an educational resource for 991.2 owners.
Feel free to post your own pictures, developments, experiences, etc!

PRODUCT RELEASE
PRODUCT RELEASE
DSC Sport releases 991.2 Support
DSC Sport releases 991.2 Support
We are proud to now offer full DSC Sport product line support for the 991.2. The newest V2 controller features all of the same hardware and software features, including g-force, brake pressure, throttle position, wheel speed (mph), full velocity, and magnetic motor mount tuning.
Features:
• Direct Plug N Play with OEM connector, controls, and display
• 10 minute installation
• Increases both ride quality AND handling performance by optimizing shock tuning in real time
• Full user-definable tuning software
Applications:
DSC Sport V2 controllers are available for Porsche 991.1, 981.1, and 991.2.
Pricing and availability:
V2 controllers are $1,290.00 retail. All DSC Sport products are available and ready to ship through www.dscsport.com or by contacting any of DSC Sport dealers and distributors featured on the DSC Sport website. For international orders, please contact the nearest DSC Sport dealer or contact DSC Sport directly via phone or email.
991.1 Compatibility
V2 Controllers for 991.1 and 991.2 utilize all of the same hardware and software features. However, they do require different firmware for CAN communications. Current 991.1 V2 controllers are not compatible with 991.2 vehicles and vice versa without a firmware change. We will likely impose a fee for switching vehicle models (firmware updates will remain free of charge; the fee is for changing vehicle compatibility). Price is TBD.

Excellent - looking forward to seeing how this develops
What major changes are planned?
Does the car have rear axle steering? also I'm interested to know why you favoured a manual over PDK for a track car (e.g. the PDK doesn't seem to eat clutch plates whereas the 997 GT3 RS in manual guise seemingly eats them quickly and at inconvenient times).

Any updates on modules for the 991.2 platform? Lots of discussion for earlier porsche models and even on the newer corvettes over on the C7 forums. But nothing on the 991.2. Are the newer Porsche better sorted out from the factory and the DSC module is just not as effective as it is on previous models?

If I had a boosted car - the first thing I would do is an aquamist setup. This has done wonders using windshield fluid in past cars. Next would be intercooler upgrades. There is a lot of exhausts but not a lot for functionality and cooling components.

Just a note since I have not seen any mention of this bug before for the 991.2 with front axle lift system.
The DSC Sport V2 module on my car triggered a axle lift fault. The FAL system fault gets triggered even if you don't use the FAL system. It will go away temporily after you cycle the ignition off/on. The fault message will clear but comes back within a few minutes regardless of you using the FAL system or not. Before the message comes back, the FAL system works normally. However, once the fault message comes on, the FAL system stops responding until you stop the car and turn it off and on again. Thus, if your front axle is in the raised position and the fault comes on, then you would have to turn off/on the car to be able to lower it again before the fault comes back.
Hopefully someone with a 991.2 with the FAL system and also a sunroof will be able to lend TCP their car to get this all sorted out.
