Default Multiple vehicles Launch X-431R

Yea I was thinking if it would do multiple vehicles might be better off gettiing the Launch X-431R (if someone car verify it works). I have a rice burner right now that needs some codes reset anyway.

I can try to hook it up to my X5 to see if it works on other makes if you want. Haven't had the need to try to use it on the Bimmer yet.

I'd also like to know it this will work for a 991.2. I sent an email to the seller and I'll report back when I get an answer.

Update: I heard back from the seller and he said this will not reset the oil service reminder.

The Creader Vll will not support resetting oil and service reminder lights on a 2017 Porschr 911 (991.2). Our software is 24 months behind with current coverage for some vehicles but not Porsche.

From Durametric:
Thank you for writing. The Durametric Software currently supports Porsche Models through 2015. We are currently working on an update to the software, but no timeline for release is available. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

From Autel:
Will the MD808 reset service and maintenance lights for a 2017 Porchse 911 (991.2)?
Yes for Oil reset it will work on that year.
Websocket: Did you ever give the MD808 a try? Wondering if it worked on a 991.2

Has anyone confirmed a device that will reset the 991.2? I had an online chat with Autel and they couldn't answer my inquiry about the 991.2. So, my question was referred overseas to engineering. Here is the response and the stateside referral.

Customer has new 2017 Porsche 991.2 that needs to have the oil change message reset. Which product will do this? Need the least expensive solution. i was thinking the maxisys mx808 because it has oil light reset and auto oil light reset. But he needs to know for sure. He needs confirmation because like he said even the Durametric has not updated their tool to handle the 2017-2018 911s. Please let us know when you can, thank you.

It is not supported by MX808 at present. He will need to buy DS808 or MS908.

Can anyone confirm that this item works to reset the oil reminder on a 991.1?

I cannot find the exact Launch X-431R anymore. I am now looking to buy this similar one.
https://www.ebay.ca/itm/LAUNCH-CRese...r/273422616338

The software update in original post, does it add the Porsche models, or are they already in the device? Does it support 2010 Cayman Base model?

Still don't know why folks are gambling with Chinese $40 reset tools that may or may not work (good luck returning it if it doesn't work) versus the $150 iCarSoft tool that works on all modern Porsches, does more than just reset the oil reminder (it's no Durametric, but it's a pretty good tool for the price), and has good tech support and updates as new models come out.

Is anyone familiar with a currently-available low-cost solution for this? I'm having a heck of a time finding anything, especially when it comes to shipping to Canada.

I've found several $200 tools that will do the trick, but I'm a cheapskate when it comes to stuff like this.

Title of ad says the iCarsfoft is the model i960, but the picture shows it to be a Por II.

Can you confirm?

Thanks

I've used the iCarsoft POR-II to reset all the service counters, as well as the airbag lights. It's done everything I've asked of it, so far.
