Default 4 Year Service

My car has 6400 miles on it. How silly is it that Porsche requires the air filter and spark plugs to be changed?

Almost as silly as not driving a Porsche more than 6400 miles in 4 years. I'm at 9000 in 7 months. :-)

No less silly than always trolling the 991 Forum. You can probably bang this out in less than 20 minutes for under $80.

Just having some fun. Bored, looking at current threads. I'll go away now. :-)

No, more like $150 and 4 hours. Still better than the dealer gouge.

Point is that spark plugs and air filters aren't time sensitive.

Now go back to trolling the virtues of 5W-50 oil.

Go read your owner's manual and maintenance schedule, troll.

I have read them, I know Porsche thinks they are. They aren't.

Funny how you think anyone who disagrees with you or questions the almighty Porsche mystique is a troll. No wonder Porsche owners have a bad stereotype.

The service cost is probably the least of your expenses. If you think about it, even with the low mileage, a 2012 has probably depreciated $30k by now... that's almost 5 bucks a mile if you've only gotten 6400 miles out of it!

Just a FYI:

If anyone is around middle TN (Nashville, TN area) and would like to learn more about their car and be assisted in maintenance tasks or mesh screen installation and save a little coin in the process..... please look me up.

Mr. Know It All. So you know more than Porsche and the Rennlist brain-trust. So you know the answer, disagree with the answer, then post the question, "how silly is it that Porsche requires it to be changed". You do that because you're a troll.

There are a couple contrarians already on Rennlist. They actually have a sense of humor, skill set, help others, and really drive their cars. You should give up the act already, it's gotten old.

It's a TIME or MILEAGE schedule. Cars need maintenance just sitting too.

You have the option of making your own adult choice correct? If you know better, go for it. For the rest of us, we can make our own decisions on the maintenance of our cars.

Not sure what the issue is If you want to challenge it, call PCNA.

I've searched, but haven't been able to find a DIY for spark plug changes on a 991S. Anyone have a link?
