Default New Porsche Buyer Here (911 991.1)

I'm new to this market. Currently hunting for a 991.1. Obviously there are both dealers and Porsche dealers.

Any advice you could provide, or things to look out for during my hunt? Any particular model-years issues to be aware of? I just don't want there to be any surprises after I pull the trigger.

Thanks in advance for the insight!

the best thing you can do is to go over the "hot for sale of the week" thread by STG (its a sticky at the top of the screen).... it is one of the most useful things in here. You should follow it for a little while, and then ask specific questions... this will be a far more effective educational strategy.

Unlike some models of 911, I don't think there are any definitive "avoid 20XX through 20XY cars" or "don't buy 2012s with SN below XXXXXXXXX" type problems.

I've found that most discerning 911 buyers are happiest with the 991 GTS2 Coupe in GT Silver with the black/garnet red interior. I've never seen a study that disproves this observation of mine.

I read that somewhere in a Porsche magazine I think. I just can't remember where.

I have a 2013 991.1 and I love it. I think it is key to have some warranty time left on the car or a CPO warranty. Not cheap to fix obviously and any unforeseen initial repairs will be covered. I know that there is ongoing debate as to whether the PDK or 7MT is preferred. Mine is a weekend toy and I love the 7MT.

Welcome to the club. You will love it once you get it.
