Default High oil pressure??? Or not???

Hi everyone,

Yesterday, all of sudden the oil pressure display started showing higher that the normal level of oil pressure. But the oil pressure gauge still shows the usual level. There is about 10-12 psi (I guess that's the right term) difference between the gauge (the round one) and the display (the digital display in vehicle menu), display showing higher. When I push it little bit, oil pressure in digital display reaches to 50's which I never happened before while the gauge is showing much lower and the usual level.

Which one should I trust? Is it something to be concerned?

Btw, it is 2014 991 base with warranty.

Thanks all in advance.

The gauge is in bars. The MFD is in PSI.

Getting readings of 50 psi is normal under acceleration.

About 14.5 psi = 1 bar.

Thanks for your input.

But why increase all of a sudden? I am pretty sure digital display has increased while the gauge remained the same???

The gauge moves slowly because the range is so narrow. The MFD is very responsive and dynamic.

Just a note...your top three in your MFD (temp, temp, pressure) are all represented by analog gauges. Why not replace them with other info not available on the gauges? Top for me is the Voltage to keep track of the electrical system. You can add in navigation time and distance remaining. I also run the compass so I can have the speed limit displayed in the top center and add range into the middle section. Good luck and enjoy!

I hope you are correct. I have an engine telemetry unit on my car (AP3) and either the ROM is wrong or the gauges are not worth the time it took to put them in.

For example,
Gauge water temp = 194 after operating temp is reached. ROM indicating anywhere from 210 to 215 depending on conditions

Oil temp - Gauge is reading much lower than ROM, until operating is reached then they tend to equal out.

Fuel Pressure - Gauge is much lower than the ROM.

I was really surprised to see this.
