Too much construction going on in the area... just ate something that clearly disagreed with the windshield. It is real small -- I'd guess about 1.5mm -- but not far from the line of sight. I don't think I'll be particularly bothered by it when driving, but is it worth fixing ASAP so it doesn't get worse? Safelite?
On my earlier cars I'd probably ignore it, but thought I'd ask everyone's opinion to be on the safe side.
I can't see it. Get it repaired. Not replaced. About $75-50. Your insurance will probably pay 100%. If your wife asks, make sure you tell her that's at least 3mm.
Is it in your field of view while driving? If not, and it doesn't bug you, I'd wait. If there's a lotta construction were you live, might as well wait until you get a real crack.

FIX!
A chip or more correctly crack is a stress intensifier and can progress with less than the normal stress for cracking.
In some cases the effect can be spectacular but not with safety glass.
A polymer that sets up is injected under pressure into the crack.
Picked one up in my Boxster last summer.
Came to the house, fixed, no problems. $80. I don't even report these small things.

Yes. Fix ASAP. As others have said, most insurance policies cover 100% of repair cost (deductible is waived). Most repair providers can come to you for the repair. You can search for the providers online.
I just went through a windshield replacement on my S4 that started out as a small chip. The chip became a 12" crack when the car went over a dip and rebound section of the road while going around a downhill bend somewhat aggressively.
Nada They can't do anything - plastic fill won't adhere since there's no crack to penetrate. And it turned out I have two more of these, just out of L.O.S. My luck, again.
Got one with only 300 miles on the clock. Fortunately it split a couple of days later and the insurance picked up the replacement. Used the best guy around and the installation was flawless. I don't recommend repairs. Always visible if in your sight. Will get on your nerves forever and cause you to hate the car.
