Ok, ok. 340ix is a bit old school, but sometimes you do need a couple of paragraphs for BMW's current naming conventions. 340ix = 340i xDrive
fwiw, Jag was #4 on the latest JD Powers initial quality survey. Porsche #2, BMW #6. Not sure how much I trust that tho.
Now back to Jnosol's beautiful new car . . .
Me too with the Trepidation of Jaguar ownership due to the exact same issues already spoken of.
The XF certainly is a "LOOKER" if one is into that type of styling. If they could get the XF working without the need of constant Warranty work then I will take a look at one. Yet I'm not an early Adaptor so buying most cars I would wait a few years (except for Porsche's, they work very hard on quality and installation Codes and Methods of contruction) before buying the current MY of a car. One of the biggest reasons I have never bought a new Fiat Abarth.

Hi Jimmy,
Congratulations. I'm also a BMW nut and my wife and I own 2011 535GT and 328xi, respectively. I kept the 3er as a DD and slapped an OEM performance exhaust. I must admit that the hydraulic steering is miles ahead of the Porsche electromechanical setup.
I, too, fell out of love with the latest BMW performance models and we found ourselves a Racing Yellow 2015 GTS, about 6 weeks ago (look for my thread if you want to see the story/pics).
Your observations are similar to mine, low to the ground but the lightweight and thunderous NA flat 6 are so damned intoxicating, it's ridiculous.
I took a day off today just to drive "Rumble Bee"
Best of luck with your car, I love the pictures and white color, I love all Porsche colors!!
I'm right behind you with 564 miles to date so you better hurry up and pile on the miles, for I'm coming to get you!
Best
Bemo

/ I had started this post before going shopping. I realized that the post was still incomplete and thus I started to finish it and when I was done I noticed that I had duplicated a few paragraphs were one on top of a second. And the first didn't make sense. So I'm going for another try on the subject Mañana. So as Master Control always said.
/END OF LINE.

Track Day
Congrats on the 911 and props on the model and color.
I recently followed the same path to a white GTS a month ago, although I went manual, not PDK.
Jumped from an E90 DCT M3, had a blast with that high revving V8, was considering an M2 but it was time to finally hit a lifelong dream and jump to a 911.
No regrets at all. Absolutely love it, deeply satisfying to drive, even in crappy traffic.
The last car I loved to drive this much was my '98 MR2 when I was living back in my mother country of Aus.

Thank you so much, guys. I'm amazed how many Bimmer converts are on this forum, crazy.

Many many bimmers here E36, E39, E46, E92. There is no comparison. Ran away from my F82 after a year of trying to find something to love. Home again and happy!
GL with your GTS. Gorgeous car and you're right, silly to think of Bimmers over $100K

Sold my M4 a bit ago and really love E46/E92's but you're on the same path I'm afraid I'm going down.
Had a deposit on a 991 GT3 but then the engine fire and production issues stopped. I should have waited!
Anyway, excellent sports car. I love it! Enjoy.

I also had a string of BMWs. I think they were great sports sedans up until a few years ago. There is one that I think hit the nail on the head for what it was.........the E39 M5! Wish I never sold that car. I know the modern 911s are great, but I went from my 997 back to a 1982 911 SC. I'm loving the old school simplicity, small size, classic 911 lines, and air cooled sounds. Bottom line there is no substitute for a 911.

Yeah, the "luxo-wussification" @ BMW continues to spread.
I test drove so many and tried to stay but one or more things always bothered me.
E92 - great motor but the bearing rod issues and weight couldn't be ignored.
F80 M3/4 - still heavy, lifeless steering and farty exhaust coupled with digital noise in the cabin, no thanks!
Looked at the M2 - still heavy and not customizable enough.
Hope they come to their senses.
I'll enjoy the 911 GTS in the meantime. Wish it had a hydraulic steering rack but everything else is perfect.
