I have a 2013 C2S placed into service 2/13. How can I tell the version of the PCM - 3.0 or 3.1? The reason for asking is that my Porsche service rep said I have version 3.0 and that was why my latest system version is V4.73 and not V4.76 which I thought was the latest system version. A recent article in "911" magazine laid out the evolution of PCM stating the 997's had version 3.0 and the 991's had version 3.1. How do I verify which PCM unit I have? I know how to display the PCM's system version but not the PCM version itself. Thanks.
If you have a 991, your PCM is most definitely 3.1 — PCM 3.0 was in the 997 platform. To check the software version, press "SOURCE" and "INFO" at the same time.
The only other radio available in the 991 was CDR. If you don't have a card slot in the middle of the lower button panel, you have CDR.
What buttons do I push to display the PCM version of 3.1? Thanks.
As far a I know, there's no way to display that information. The PCM version is the hardware. That's like trying to get "991.1" to display in the cluster. If you have a 991, the ONLY two options are PCM3.1 and CDR31.... Unless you have no radio.
What is the most recent Verbundversion for the PCM 3.0?
It appears the 2009, 997.1 Turbo PCM3 has not been upgraded since new. Please help to decode the below information.
997.1 PCM3 Verbundversion V1.40
997.1 PCM3 Source: 11-Feb-2008-R

Reason: Update.
Get this fixed while your vehicle is still under warranty. My Cayenne is no longer under warranty and when I called the dealer I was told that the Radio had to be replaced! They wouldn't even look at it to see if it needed a software update or need a disk/storage unit. I asked for a price - $4200 big ones. Porsche dealers have a monopoly here because you have to be a licensed dealer to have access to programming the unit. So it can't be fixed in the aftermarket. So, when your vehicle first starts doing this, get it fixed under warranty or sell it!
Your software version is what you should be concerned about. I believe they are up to 4.76 which is what I have. Your dealership can install it for free if still under warranty. Tell them you have an intermittent blue tooth problem and the install will be free. 4.76 corrects blue tooth issues.
The Dealer wouldn't even look at the software. I was told that looking at the software was a waste of time. It was going to need a new radio and the radio cost $4200.
