It's a technic set, so it's probably got all sorts of interesting inner workings. They are more about the mechanicals than about fidelity. The normal sets use moulded special pieces these days to make stuff look good. Unlike when we were kids and curved surfaces had to be made by stepping bricks.

They could have at least made it better looking while maintaining the Lego look. The large gapping holes next to the headlights are an eyesore. I'm sure the mechanics are pretty cool tho.

+1. the "grand prix racer" is a great set and fun build. can't wait until they release the RS june 1. lego does amazing job with the technic product line. the "24 hours race car" is another great set. these are quite addictive once you get going.
