Default Thoughts on 991 in PA

Going to be on the Mainland/East Coast visiting family next week and may go look at a few P cars that are in my budget range.

Saw this one in PA:

http://1e468ad8-5fb6-4fcb-a057-e1fca...9/Details.aspx

Couple of things stick out...16 service checks, sold at auction (not always a red flag), very low mileage. Any other observations appreciated.

Thanks.

Tread carefully. I've lived here 25 years and never heard of this dealer. Suspect the Porsche might be a quick flip.

Thanks Torque. I spent nearly 40 years in Maryland before heading west, so more familiar with the dealerships around Baltimore and DC. The PA dealer with the 991 has a rather unimpressive line-up of vehicles for sale...you are likely right on the "quick flip" call.

I don't think it would be worth looking at IMHO. I am in the area this week on business and if you want I can go look at it and confirm my thoughts. The biggest thing to me is that it is not enough of a deal to take the chance. Used car dealers in Norristown are not the most trustworthy merchants...

If you are in the Philly area, Porsche of Bucks County is a good dealership, I can recommend a good SA there. Same with Porsche of Conshohocken and Porsche of the Main Line.

The spacing of P O R S C H E on the bumper, seems to be a bit off. Bring a paint meter, and get a PPI, if you decide to go beyond that.

Looks like a nice car at a reasonable price. The Porsche logo looks fine to me, note the S is centered directly beneath the wart. I think the slight off center angle of the photo is playing tricks on the eyes.

Do a thorough check. Could simply be a low mile lease return that went to auction.

I couldn't find the actual option sheet on that website (just a useless feature list). If they didn't post it on purpose, there's probably a reason.

Ah ok... a pretty basic build, which explains the basic price. If that's what you're looking for, it's not necessarily a bad thing. These didn't come with even PASM by default though, and I don't think anyone has found a way to add it in after the fact.

with that build , it is not cheap, you probably can get a certified car for that price which give you peace of mind for couple extra years

Again, thanks for the great advice. Am finishing up business here in Chicago on Wednesday and get back to MD for a week of vacation with the family right afterwards. Should have plenty of time to check on potential deals in the area. I've read good things about Porsche of the Main Line.

Thanks again and much appreciated.

I bought my Boxster from PoftML a few months ago, long-distance, sight-unseen, and I think I got a fair price and the car is very nice. They were very easy to work with both in purchasing and helping to arrange shipping/transport options.

I've never dealt with them, but if you're looking in the area you OP, you can try Porsche of Conshohocken. Its only a few miles from this very listing.
