Default Bose option in a Cab or Targa with SE

I just ordered a 2017 Targa and wondering whether the Bose system is worth the cost ($1550) since the car will be driven primarily with the top down and it has sport exhaust. I am not an audiophile and to my knowledge there isn't a factory option for satellite radio I question whether I would need it.

Is Bose any good in a sport car? Is it better to have it for resale? I didn't have it in my 991 Gt3 though the Targa is a totally different car.

Think for a car like the Targa it is a necessity. If you are even thinking about resale, then you'll definitely want it. Also, where do you live? If there is a cold season you'll miss it when the top is up.

The Bose in the 991 is less than satisfying, but a good deal better than the ASK system. There's a chance it's better for resale, but I think thats going to be on a case-by-case basis depending on the next potential owner.

I've spent hours with both systems in multiple platforms, and this is my recommendation - If you aren't an audiophile and don't plan on doing an aftermarket upgrade down the road, I would bite the bullet and option for the Bose. The depth is far superior and the extra power will come in handy fighting the wind noise in a Targa.

The Bose is more powerful that the standard and has noise reduction, so it's a great for open top motoring. I have a cab and I would say it was worth the money.

I'm very satisfied with the Bose in our Targa. I'm no sound snob, but I do enjoy music and often upgrade my factory speakers. The tunes are a great compliment to the exhaust!

On the NA engines with PSE, I would tell you to go with either stock or Burmester. I have a Burmester, but to be honest I enjoy the sound of the exhaust more than my stereo. Having said that, I do not know how the new 911.2 sounds.

I also believe you should go Stock or Burmester. I have the Burmester and it does sound amazing.
