[QUOTE=vivekg;13168075]WARNING PICTURES AT THE END ARE NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART :-)

So today was the first day that I got to drive the car to work (my plan is to use this as my daily driver). Now of course being New England the weather didn't fully cooperate, it was cold and occasional flurries in the morning. I took the drive easy and did get Car Play setup this morning so was able to finally enjoy my podcasts while enjoying my drive. Car handled great and I kept the speed down as I know I should really be on winter tires, but I'm hoping to avoid that till the tail end of this year :-)

On the ride home things were a bit more interesting as the pavement had cooled off and the snow was actually sticking. Still things went really well overall: heating, windshield wipers (front and rear), defrosters and heated steering wheel (just for a test, and didn't try the seats yet) all were good. As I got home there was a bit of a build up at the end of my driveway due to a plow having come by and there was probably 3 inches of snow on the driveway. Tried out the front axle lift and that worked perfectly! Driving up the driveway (has a bit of an incline to it) was a bit of slipping, so definitely need the snow tires next year. Made it up into the driveway and then stopped to take pictures (because what else do you do when it is snowing). So here are a few pictures of the new car in the snow.

Vivek

Wow nice one and credit to you. But you are brave running on Summer's for your first day to work in your new car. I'm in NJ and we just had rain today, but I left my 991 GTS in the garage and took the SUV. Really great pics by the way :-)

Congratz. Love the colour combo!

I was so on the fence about the red gauges but it looks fantastic on your car!

So far seems to be working fine. I've been meaning to run some tests to see if there are any problems or sensor gaps caused by it. I could mount it a little bit more to the left, but was trying to avoid covering more of the intake.

I placed an order on February 10th for a 2017 GT Silver Carrera 4S - http://www.porsche-code.com/PHMCSSX5. I should go status V250 this Friday. Current estimated vehicle completion is 4/22, exit Port Emden is 5/13 and arrival at the Port of San Diego on 6/10. I am really looking forward to take delivery.

Looks like a nice build! I see you went with the Manual as well.

I struggled with many decisions when choosing the build specification for this 911, but the decision to go with the manual gearbox was easy.

Vivekg - I was fortunate enough to have driven a 991.2 back in January. After about 30 minutes, there was no question that I would be placing an order. I spent countless hours on the configurator. I am sure that I built 50 or more. I was really conflicted between a lightly optioned Carrera or Carrera S or going with a 4S and checking the Premium Package Plus and Sport Package boxes. I was confident that I would have been more than pleased with any of these builds, but in the end went for the higher spec 4S. BTW, the red interior and wheels you chose look great!

Hi, I am also in the market for a Rho-Plate V2 with extender. Saw another Rennlist thread and VISE from Canada seemed to be getting along just fine. So interested to hear if your experience matches up. I see Vivekg found that thread too :-)

Yes that forum was the one that got me to buy it. I have had no problems so far and the sensor seems to be pretty sensitive. I definitely get warnings from all corners of the car including where the plate is mounted. So seems okay to me.
