They're still sore over that whole Blitz thing.

(To be fair, I've heard plenty of native German speakers pronounce it with an almost-imperceptible second syllable. It seems to be one of those things you can chalk up to a regional accent.)

Hearing the 991.2 drive away under accelaeration is a real eye/ear opener. The majority of the sound are the turbos spooling up.

I had my nephew drive my 991.1 C2S with PSE away from me under acceleration. What a difference in sound to the 991.2. The 991.1 sounds mean and viceral.

As you should. I don't think anyone is throwing shade at 991.2 potential owners; everyone has a preference in car designs, engines, etc.

No, I was seriously asking - why do Brits and Aussies do that?

I mean, they can continue to pronounce it as one syllable, but they'd still be wrong. How did it start? Is it something unique to the British and Australian accents that steer them to drop a trailing soft syllable like that?
