Default Function First Transmission Mounts

Was just browsing suncoast for the short shifter kit and saw these uprated transmission mount inserts offered from Function First. I know it's not a factory part but was wondering if anyone had any experience with these and user impressions?

Way back in the day I had a VW Jetta and I did a similar swap out of the transmission mount inserts and it was like night and day. I'm wondering if this with the SSK will be shifting heaven...

Amazes me that Porsche omitted this $100 part in their design and final assembly process.

Not a matter of failures. These stiffen up the current bushing for a performance advantage. Fill in the voids.

Would like more details though.

Did notice this co. offers 3 different variants and wonder if there "street" version is as streetable/comfortable as what Porsche intended. Anyone out there tried any version(s) of these ? T

Just had Function First Transmission Mount Inserts installed in my '09 C2S which for all intents and purposes is a dedicated track car, interior stripped out below and aft of the original dash. No sound proofing either.

Had just installed Wevo semi-solid engine mounts...no complaints...after adding the transmission mount inserts, however, the engine/drivetrain sound was dramatically different as heard from the driver's seat. Not louder, just very different. No difference noted from the outside of the car.

My car does have a SSK but not what Function First sells. Will get a feel for the mounts at the track this weekend.

I just ordered a "street" level bushing insert set, and will do a write-up when it comes in.

I had a trans mount insert in my MINI Cooper, and it made a world of difference in regards to clutch feel.

Nice, please report back! For $100 seems pretty easy to try and reverse but always to cool to hear someone's first-hand impressions.

SSK = short shift kit, specifically the one from Suncoast that others have raved about in another thread. I might pull the trigger on both and install them sequentially to see what effect each has.

For $138.xx shipped, it's a low-risk item that could make a huge difference from my previous experience.

If it doesn't work out, at least it's an interesting thread.

I'm more afraid of the installation not the price.

Edit I just placed the order for the yellow one.
