Default Stone chip on bumper behind rear wheel

Hi Rennlisters
My car is about 16months old now and I always have been careful with the road surface I am driving on and avoiding loose gravel.
But still the bumper behind the rear wheels has been hammered with countless stone chips.
Does anyone has this problem and what is your suggestion?

Normal. But still frustrating. I do touch up in that area with Dr Color Chip and the Porsche touch-up paint. Every couple months.

My Xpel installer did that area and the rockers/ fenders. Only way to avoid chips.

xpell has a pattern that covers that as well as area in the rear fender. I had them run an extra strip on the rim that gets most of the damage. Does not look perfect but sure nice protection on mountain roads.

XPEL pattern. Notice rear one for behind wheels. I have it and virtually invisible more than 5" away. No chips!

I didn't do the front part and only stuck with the OEM size stone guard. Your installer can pick out which piece to cut out.

On just about any colour than white, this is not such a visual poke in the eye.

Guess I'll wait until a repaint, ie when stone chips outnumber the paint in this region, then XPEL it..

I would do Dr Colorchip now. If you touch it up, won't be noticeable. I'd do that and cover with the film ASAP. Saves you a repaint which can be a negative in some respects.

It's still salvageable in it's current stage.

This ... thanks to some members here, I had my installer do just that rear piece for $100 or so when he did my full front install. I did not do anything else on the rear nor did I do rockers.

Are those actual chips or just tar and grime on the surface?

Unfortunately..... chips. ~9,000 mi.
Sucks that the plastic is black when the paint is white!
As I said above, just about any colour other than white is not so visually offensive.

Best money I've spent doing the same on my car.
