Default Thanks RL! iPhone and Escort hard-wired into the FG Targa

What a wonderful resource! Just wanted to express my gratitude to all those that contribute.

The iPhone is now mounted into a Proclip cradle which is on a T-Design bracket. It's then connected to the power source in the passenger footwell. I used some cable guides to keep the install somewhat clean.

The Escort is mounted to a blendmount and hardwired using a j28 design mirror tap. This required some comtortionism on my part,
but I'm very happy with the install and not having to run a wire to the fuse box.

Best,
Tom

I changed out my stereo and I am using a Suncoast DIN adapter for my Pioneer AVIC-8000NEX head. Do you think the T-Design bracket will work with it? I realize you do not have it but just wondering. Also, why do you need the Proclip attached to the T-Design bracket? Doesn't the bracket already hold your iPhone?

I really like the bracket. I didn't realize the ProClip holder fit other brackets. Regarding the wiring - the side of the console is fairly easy to remove and you should be able to run the cable between the console and the leather side piece, then snake it into the glovebox. Acts what worked for me. Where did you get an iPhone power cable in black that fits the ProClip base?

Love the install! Several of us are clearly going to replicate that Could you make a list of all parts and where you sourced them from?

Thanks! Grabbed them at Best Buy, they attach via double sided tape =)

The T-design bracket normally comes with its own clip, I just prefer the Proclip cradle so ordered just the bracket itself. There are pre-drilled holes in the bracket which line up with the pro clip perfectly.

Cool I will have to look into that, will make the install much cleaner! I ordered the Proclip that has a built in cable, which comes in black.

There are plenty of aftermarket companies that produce a black iPhone cable. Go to BestBuy or similar and you will find them.

Did you lose the ability to use the left cup holder and, if yes, what did you do as a rectify that?

Yes - but not all aftermarket cables are made to exactly the same size as the Apple cable. The tolerances for the hole in the ProClip mount in which an Apple cable is "snapped" are really tight. I didn't get the cradle that included a cable and consequently wasted a few bucks on cables that would not fit the opening. Now that I know ProClip sells a cradle with a cable I'll contact them to see if I can purchase their cable standalone.

It will push up against the side of the iPhone, but is still usable =)

If possible, can you take a picture with a drink/bottle in your cup holder and post.
Also, any worries that anything in your cup holder will spill onto you phone? Thanks
