But where the extra 40 hp is noticeable is in the top end. Thats when u will have the real advantage. The GTS has a bit higher rev limit as well. That all said, you do get the wide body of course going 4S or GTS
You are disgrace to GTS community. You should have put bus lengths on that heavy AWD S!!

I kid, I kid

Probably would have given a mile and not being so fat lol Kidding aside, the 0-60 time isn't but maybe 1/10s of a second better and a couple of miles an hour on the top end with the GTS. I weigh 230 and shes 120. But I have no glass roof, no AWD system, and have carbon ceramics.

So the weight difference with drivers and given fuel load should have been the same, actually slight advantage to me. Granted my car has only 100 miles on it and maybe the computer will open it up after more miles or it learns driving characteristic. I am not sure.

It did walk away slow on the low end start but than she was even pacing me. We didn't get but a hair over 100. I am thinking around 130 is when I would have seen some strong pull away given the higher rev range and hp of the GTS. But it will in no way walk that car hard, like a Turbo might walk me. Forty HP isn't a lot.

I don't think the small amount of extra hp is the reason I love my GTS - a better driver could beat me in a base Carrera - its the overall look and style plus the sound is sweet.. Its simply a gorgeous looking 911 especially spec'd to my taste..

U want to know something. I agree. Coming from a GTR twin turbo. It wasn't just the speed. That was the least of it. Its more about the looks, and the refinement that I love about the car. Sure faster would be nice, but I am happier with the other two aspects. I don't race, and you can only go so fast legally. (: The GTS badge just makes it way cooler (:

Took the sled to the track this weekend (MSR south of Ft Worth in Cresson for those that have been).

before I was married, I had an '06 997 Carrera S (Manual with all the performance upgrades -short of PCCBs). I loved that car and tracked it when I could. Did Texas Motor Speedway, Texas World Speedway and Eagles Canyon. Was pretty competitive and with a set of lowering springs and Sport Cups I was running 1:25:XXs in CCW on the 1.7 at MSR.

So.......I took the GTS to the track and with the stock Pirellis, I pulled a 1;26:XX. on the track with us was a Daytona Prototype, a Cup Car, A viper World Challnge car and a host of Spec Boxters. Also, a new GT3 RS, a GT3 and a GTR on track tires.

I was able to get around the non-race car guys pretty well ( Save the Black GT3) and thought I was doing pretty well.

THEN, I let my buddy who races a Formula Mazda take a turn.

He blew past what I thought the car was capable of and ripped off a 1:24:XX. The car has WAY more grip than I was giving it credit for and he showed me how much more I have to go. Anyway, was an awesome day and I called my wife and told her I loved her (think Jerry Maguire's "show me the money" scene and you will understand how I told her I loved her)

I'm so happy to have a 911 again. I'm so happy to have a car so immensely capable and yet beautiful to be in as a daily driver.

Anyway...... I'm back at the track and I have the sickness. New track wheels and tires will be on order soon.

Other mods- Im putting the 911R "P O R S C H E" block letters on the doors, adding the ducktail spoiler and deleting the PORSCHE name on the rear so it just says "GTS".
