Default 991.2 Exhaust Options

Yes, this is "another" Exhaust thread -- but not what you might think! I just wanted to post up a snippet from a tech presentation on the 991.2 given at Tech Tactics East today....

First interesting tidbit is that the 991.2 has TWO Sound Symposers, vs ONE on the 991.1's.

Second, I can't help but think that with the Sport Exhaust option the car will have the different, center-cutout rear cover, whereas with the non-S and standard S (with flaps) exhausts the cut-outs are either-side. So, down the road if one were to want to retrofit the Sport Exhaust on a car not optioned with it from factory, the rear valance (black plastic cut-out trim piece?) will also have to be replaced, if not the entire cover! I am thinking it will be the former and not the latter...

Here's a pic from the presentation deck....

The two symposers were done to try and make the .2 not sound like a solitary confinement cell. I believe the center mounted exhausts were also done to try and imitate the .1 growl.

The rear lower valance is cheap. On the 991.1 it's under $150 I believe. Shouldn't be cost prohibitive on the .2

Hi George! Learned a ton... Much was focused on the 991.2 but had GT4 CS, Tire Tech, Connected Car, and other good sessions. Several engines and a PDK sliced open out in the shop floor and I had a great discussion with some of the techs there about them... Also had a GT3, GT3 RS, and GT4 lined-up. I've got a ton of pics and all the presentations from the day. Will figure-out what to post later....

Not so sure about the rear valance being so "reasonably" priced in the future. Looks to be a much larger piece on the .2. I don't really care either way- just something for anyone ordering a .2 to consider.
