PDK Launch Control Question
#17
Launch Control is the whole reason I opted for a PDK with Sport Chrono 500 miles away, while a similar model nearby lacked Chrono.
I have no idea if the previous owner used it or not. I've used it 3-4 times maybe. Not something I make a habit of, but it's an instant day improver!
I used it on my 997.2 infrequently, maybe a dozen times over my two year ownership. Never had any issues from it.

I was recently offered a Targa 4S presscar with powerkit plus lots of options at almost half the price of what a new 991.2 S I ordered instead is going to cost. But I know what that car went through in the past year. I wouldn't be able to put that sort of abuse in so few miles in 10 years.

Methinks I overpaid...

Lest one forget - Launch Control = Sports Chrono = dynamic engine mounts, "improved" SW for PDK, auto rev match for MT, different mapping for accelerator, etc.
LC for timed events is a good thing, having fun is a good thing, but as a standalone option probably not worth it for most folks - but it's part of Sports Chrono which includes a number of performance enhancing options.

So are you going to judge everyone? Don't you have some money issues to work out with your wife?

Perhaps you should revisit the dictionary. Making a statement about what one does or does not do as they participate in a discussion does not meet the definition of bragging. Just not a nice thing to write.

Ridiculous comparisons. There's zero need to actually use launch control to enjoy every bit of acceleration of this car. Launch control is intended for optimizing your launch off the line for racing purposes. It has no relevance whatsoever to what a Porsche was designed IMO, nor does one need to use it to launch this car like a scalded cat. If you get a kick out of making believe your 991 is a Hellcat, more power to you. But don't be surprised that a lot of buyers of this car see zero value in it.

To get back on topic:
I've been to PEC - Atlanta several times and the instructors told me they do LC all day long. Day after day. Not an issue.
But...I'm not sure why one would do that..... Not to judge.
