I will say this; my car has the autodimming mirrors, although I guess it was just luck as that is another thing I had no idea was an option! The first night I had her out within a few minutes a truck pulled up behind me and I was absolutely blinded! I pushed the button on the front of the mirror and the problem was solved in seconds! So, I would say that they are very nice to have, but it would be very far down on my list of options and would in no way keep me from purchasing a car if everything else was right. There are so many options on these cars that it is almost impossible to find one with exactly the same boxes you would have ticked new, so when you find one that is that close, and has all your "absolute must haves", I say go for it!

Question

Hi guys,

last two weeks changed a lot. Now I am going to get a new car and there are two options:

1) New (stock) 991.1 Carrera 4 Black Edition without glas-sunroof, no PASM, no Sport-Chrono but with PSE, LED/black, Bose, vent/heat seats (14-way)

2) New order of 991.2 Carrera 2 with:
Agate Grey Metallic
Black leather interior
'PORSCHE' and model designation painted Exclusive - Chosen colour: Black
Bi-Xenon main headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS)
ParkAssist (front and rear) with reversing camera
Electric slide/tilt glass sunroof
Privacy glass (rear side windows and rear window) Exclusive
Headlight cleaning system covers painted in contrasting exterior colour Exclusive Chosen colour: Black
SportDesign exterior mirrors
Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
Power steering Plus
Sport Chrono Package including mode switch
Sports tailpipes in black Exclusive
20-inch Carrera S wheels
Wheels painted in satin black (complete) Exclusive
Cruise control
Automatically dimming mirrors with integrated rain sensor
Light design package
GT - Sport steering wheel
Heated multifunction steering wheel
Adaptive Sports seats Plus (18-way, electric)
Seat heating
Seat ventilation
Smoking package
Floor mats
ISOFIX child seat mounting points on front passenger seat

May I ask you for advice? Yesterday I have driven the 991.2 and loved it. The point is, I have NEVER driven a 911 before and I think there is no chance to drive the 991.1 as there are no more demos at the dealership.

When you can order your own, custom specced, car that would prevail on a pre selected car. Furthermore the spec of your own car is, in my book, far better than the pre selected car. Just my $0.02 of course

Can't you drive a used 991.1? You MUST drive both to convince yourself...

@ MaximusNL

Yes, thank you, the configuration is without any compromise, so it would be the perfect car for me.

Yeah the whole .1 vs .2 thing aside, I don't think I'd be ever willing to pay the new car premium without getting to spec it myself.

Plus if a dealer stock "new" car has 300 miles on the clock... and that's 300 miles of being driven hard by test drivers for 3 miles each without proper warmup... does that really count as "new"? I feel like I'd rather buy a used car that was driven properly from day 1 by it's previous owner.

The dealer stock car stands in the showroom and has 10 miles on the clock. (15% off MRSP)
