Default CPO + battery question

I bought my CPO recently from a dealership about 150 miles away. Car is in a local dealership for minor warranty fixes... Seatbelt installed twisted, etc. the battery is causing the passenger window to not stay up and needs to be replaced. Local dealer wants 650$ to replace battery... Not covered under warranty because of lack of miles. Is this something that should have been on CPO checklist? Is 650$ a legitimate cost to replace a battery???

Try Suncoast parts. OEM battery is about $270 for a 70Ah and $295 for a 80 Ah battery.

Not too far off from my quote. 350 of the 650 is labor!

Shout out to Matt Davis who is the GM of Porche Greensboro/ foreign cars Italia. I called and inquiried wether this was on the CPO checklist... He didn't question anything, looked at the date of purchase to verify and without hesitation asked the local dealership to reach out to his service guy and and they would take care of it.

This is the 4th car I've bought from these guys(Greensboro) and the service after the sale is the best experience I've ever experienced; bar none.

Help me understand the battery is causing the window not to stay up.

Are you also having starting and electrical gremlins of a drained battery?

OK got me wondering. How many hours to install a battery? How many technicians are needed, one to hold the battery and several more to hold the car still? What's going on?

4 hours... They have to reset a bunch of stuff and program many things. All things I've never heard of on any other car...

When I bought my CPO the salesman said that the battery was weak and they put in a brand new one at no cost to me before I picked it up. I would think that if the car needed a battery they should have taken care of it. These are expensive cars after all.

I have disconnected my battery for door maintenance so as not to explode the airbag. I reset nothing and did not reprogram many things. It was fine.

In the past what I've done was called the Roadside Assistance and told them that I need a Battery ...so they were dispatched with a brand new battery and my only cost was the price of the battery since the labor was part of the Roadside Assistance package, and I did not even have to drive to the dealer, it was all done at my residence.

$350 in labor is most likely 2 hours @ $175p/hour. I think they were attempting to charge you 1 hour diagnosis on the window and 1 hour for battery install. Im sure that there are not Porsche dealerships charging only $87.50 per hour.

Diagnosis was warranty. They did say 4 hours but even a full hour is a bit crazy IMO. I believe it's fine to put a new one in without hassle and would pay a half hour for a 5 minute job...

This dealer also wanted 2 hours to change the side markers to clear and stated that LED would cause the ECU to have problems... I did it myself in 3 minutes without issue.

This dealer seems to be overcharging big time. 2 hrs to change side markers? c'mon, what a joke
