Default Cleaning Supplies

I saw a thread discussing cleaning supplies people use but for the life of me, I can't find it again.

I need to place an order for some stuff. Any recommendations of where to order and what works best would be appreciated.

I'm not a detailer but I love to read what everyone else goes through.

I use Detailers Domain. If you can, wait for one of Phil's sales. Sign up on his website.

I have this same kit and it is solid, good starter set for sure.

In terms of the original question on what works best... there is no universal answer in terms of brand so no point getting into that debate. That said here are some of the items I'd consider essential for a low end car cleaning setup.

Two buckets with grit guards
Microfiber wash mitt (or lambswool if that is your thing)
Large, good quality microfiber/waffle weave drying towel
Many good quality microfiber cloths
Good wheel brush
Car wash soap
Wheel cleaner
Quick detailer
Tire dressing
Trim/plastic cleaner + dressing
Leather cleaner/conditioner
Glass cleaner

The basics will work for 90% of the people but some more advanced stuff would include:

Foam gun/cannon
Metrovac Master Blaster
Optimum No-Rinse Wash or Wash + Wax (including proper method to use)

This of course does not even getting into proper detailing ie. machine polishing, sealants, waxes, coatings, etc etc. Slippery slope!

I use Griot's, AmmoNYC, and Einszett (which is gone now, but will be reborn under a new name later this year).

Spend a few days reading their forum and you will find lots of good ideas on both types of products to use and processes on how to use them.

P21S bodywork conditioning shampoo, the foundation of my cleaning regimen (black 996), moisturizes the paintwork, buys you a few weeks to choose a wax.
