It's a shame that in certain states we have to deal with this problem. Where I live front plates are provided, however, (officially stated by the authorities), they will not prosecute/ticket if the front plate is not present (Utah). If I lived in a state where the front plate was mandatory, I would risk going the route I see used on classic E Type Jaguars in the UK. On those vehicles you see a decal on the front portion of the hood that looks identical to the rear plate. While not aesthetically pleasing it looks better than a plate screwed to the front bumper. I wonder if a high resolution photograph of the plate could be made into a decal and place onto the front bumper? The decal could be produced on a reflective material emulating that of the original plate. IMHO, this may look better than the current protrusions needed to mount a front plate.
