[QUOTE=srfr13;14200399]My Saturday project was to install a SmartTop into my C2S.

Srfr, beautiful car. How long did the install of the smart top take you and where did you purchase it?

I ordered it online at mods4cars.com

The installation took less than 30 min. It was easy to get everything apart. The only tricky part was getting the wiring harness connected because you had to do it by feel and there is a little plastic locking tab. I left the USB cable connected and ran it up under one of the "lids" so I could easily attach my computer and tweak the configuration.

All of the features work - exactly as specified.

The install of the grills in the bumber cover took about 15 minutes. I found the You Tube video's very helpful, except there are areas that caused me to waste some time such as trying to locate the electrical connection and then trying to access it from its mooring. The other area was reinstalling. The bumper went in fine and all holes lined up except the bottom left area did not seat properly and I had to partially remove it to fold the bottom plastic shield into the cover properly.

All in all not a terribly difficult DIY and probably saved $500-$600 in dealer labor. The Rennline parts fit very nicely and are well made. I would recommend this modification to protect the radiators.
Great job and it looks fantastic, I ended up buying the Zunsport which install without taking bumper off. I think yours looks nicer but I took the easier route.

991 Dreamer - The SmartTop installation was easy and only took about an hour. The toughest part was connecting the wiring harness because you had to do it by feel and there is a little locking tab that kept getting in the way. I left the USB cable connected and ran it up under one of the “lids” so I can easily reconnect my computer and disable the system or change the configuration. Everything is working great - as expected.

I ordered the SmartTop from the mods4cars website and it arrived within a few days.

If you have some time, post a pic of your grills installed. The Rennline grills looks as good as the OEM on the GT3.

Just pointing this out for those that don't know....but you can disable and change configurations on the mods4cars system by using the steering wheel stalk. I will always disable mine this way when I am taking it in for service, etc....just so somebody doesn't hit the button accidentally from inside the car...or triple click the key fob from outside the car, starting the automatic process and not knowing how to stop it once it starts. I figure better safe than sorry. It takes less than 10 seconds to do.

Here's a link that explains how....

The SmartTop is the only mod, so far, that when I showed my wife she said, "That is so cool".

Took more time to clean out the area just in fron thof the radiators than to install the grilles. There were A LOT of little pebbles. Maybe an eighth of a cup each side!

How did you clean it out? I tried using a compressed air keyboard duster. Got some out but not everything.

Used a micro attachment hose on our house vac. Totally worked.

Something wicked this way comes...

20x9" and 20x12" HRE P101s, brushed with clear powdercoat and red logo, aggressive offsets front and rear

Tikore Titanium Bolts

Pilot Sport 4S's

The first time I've gotten aftermarket wheels in 30 years so now I'm really anxious to get them mounted and see them on the car! I'll post some photos of that later.
