He just asked me if I preferred clear lenses -- wasn't a difficult decision -- much better.

This is correct. Only needs to be orange when blinking.

Yes indeed it does! Those orange ones are an eye sore. Once I replaced them I stood back, looked at the car, and said "ahhhh...much better"

In Utah the regulation is that the lens material be orange. Several years ago I had to change back for safety inspection. However the LED clear do show some orange through the lens when off and I told the inspection people they were OEM on some US models--so no problem anymore.

The Nav TV already has switches built in to turn the cameras on and off.

I think it's the mute button for rear and rear window heater for front...

I am aware of that but I prefer to have buttons on the console dedicated specifically for the cameras on the console. According to the instructions, you can force the cameras on by providing 12 volts to specific wires.

I just bought clear tail lights, front lid protector, bumper screens. Treat this car better than myself.

We do the "forced camera" buttons almost every time by converting a pair of the unused console buttons over and attaching them to the NavTV system. We have to wire up a circuit with a couple of triggered output modules so that the short press can be converted to a latched output for the camera.

Also, it's worth mentioning that the factory buttons have limitations for showing the camera based on speed and timing. Additional buttons are always a good choice. Check this thread out: https://rennlist.com/forums/991/9251...northwest.html
