Default Unique buying experience and big Hello! from Europe from new 4GTS owner

Hey guys and gals!

I thought I should connect with you more via this thread.

My name is Luke and I am petrolhead - including track days, hooning, road trips and more. I come from the Czech republic, postcomunist country in the heart of Europe, surrounded by Germany, Poland, Austria and Slovakia, sometimes wrongly refered to as Czechoslovakia (dissolution of Czechoslovakia took effect on 1 January 1993).

Did you guys know that Ferdinand Porsche was born in Maffersdorf (which is in the Czech republic) and was Czechoslovakian citizen until WWII?

You may ask why I chose 911unique as a nickname. Little did I know when I was registering that my story would be this unique... Read for yourselves!

My 3rd 991 4GTS...

The Porsche story
Since I was a kid I always loved Porsches. Time fast forward comes september 2015 and I am ordering my first 911 - 991 4GTS, black on black CL wheels, black alcantara interior with red stitch, carbon trim, LED headlights, 18-way seats, glass roof... 4 month old car with 16.000km on ODO and price from German Porsche Center I couldn't resist.

By the end of october 2015 it was supposed to be in my garage back in CZ.

Unfortunately this car was totalled by dealership during cruise around block after pre-sale checkup... So before I had chance to even see it, it was wrecked and didn't want to see it afterwards...

So I was offered HUGE discount on 4 month old dealer car from different Porsche center with around 9 000 km/5,600 miles, spec'd almost the same (white instead of black, otherwise same car).

You would hope for happy ending, right?

On friday November 27th 2015 I was supposed to pick up my fresh second car.

The plan was following:
At 1240 I am arriving to Prague from amazing vacation in Dubai. Then take taxi to see for the first time and pick up my 991 4GTS from my local car dealer. Drive home 300km from Prague and get to know more my new toy. Be happy.

What happened:
At 0955 my car dealer wants to make me happy and get me complimentary full tank of 100 octane fuel for my trip home. When coming back from petrol station at around 1024 the car is totalled by some dumb f***er who doesnt know how to "connect" to highway. From the connecting lane at right directly to the fast lane on the left trough middle lane not looking back or to the side...

This resulted in 911 flying towards crash rail being hit from one side by the other car and other from crash rail. By this time I was in plane, counting minutes to pick up my car.

At 1245 I turn off airplane mode on my phone to call the guy I am back and I am looking forward to picking up my car. There were some weird text messages coming to my phone. ("Call us asap, there is problem with your car.") I was not prepared for what was to come...

So here I was crazy depressed, impatiently waiting for the third car to arrive, which was more spec'd than the first two, was 4 months old had under 1000km/600miles on the ODO and had everything I wanted plus things I wished for but were not necessary (Burmester, FTW!).

Plus was price, which was the same as the second HUGELY discounted car but for a car which is almost new and includes some more goodies (free winter tyres, free retrofit upgrade to full LED headlights which was eventually PITA to execute)...

Let's hope my third one (which is already safe in my garage) will not be cursed like those two before.

Below is my brief automotive history and my current garage:
2005-2007: '03 Skoda Fabia vRS (fwd, MT6, 180hp, turbo diesel i4)
2005-2011: '63 VW Beetle (rwd, MT4, 200hp, N/A petrol f4)
2007-2009: '05 Audi Allroad Quattro 2.5 TDI (awd, AT5, 180hp, turbo diesel v6)
2008-2010: '08 Audi TT 3.2 FSI DSG Quattro (awd, DCT6, 250hp, N/A petrol v6)
2009-2011: '08 Audi A6 Allroad Quattro 3.0 TDI (awd, AT6, 233hp, turbo diesel v6)
2011-2013: '11 Audi A6 3.0 TDI Quattro (awd, AT6, 303hp, turbo diesel v6)
2012-2015: '09 BMW E93 335i (rwd, DCT7, 306hp, bi-turbo petrol i6)

Curently in my garage:
2011-present: '11 Subaru WRX STi (awd, MT6, 330hp, turbo petrol f4) -rally ninja, full built engine, lots of goodies, but soon to be sold
2013-present: '13 BMW F10 535xd (awd, AT8, 313hp, bi-turbo diesel i6) -daily driven worker, great fuel efficiency, comfortable as f***
2015-present: '01 Alpina E46 B3.3 (rwd, MT6, 410hp, petrol i6) -mad track tool, fully built engine from e46 M3 inc. race ECU, big diff, roll cage
2016-present: '15 Porsche 991 911 Carrera 4GTS (awd, DCT7, 430hp, petrol f6) -roadtrip, weekend and summer ride, hope will never need to sell

Pardon my English, it's not my native language. Soon I will post some pictures!

Take this just as intro and my way of saying HI to fellow flat six addicts.

Unbelievable! Do you believe in "signs"? Make them sell you a GT3 RS for sticker!

Your english is as good as mine and it is the only language I know. I envy people who are bilingual...

Something does not seem right with that dealers story, have you seen any of those cars that were in the accident? I know you said you did not see the first one but how about the second one?

How do you like your STI? I assume that is your daily?

Here in the USA, cars are delivered with a full tank of gas. Is this different in Europe? In the United States this is part of our transportation and destination fees.

Thanks, Prague is heart of Europe, I live in Zlin famous for being place where Tomas Bata (founder of Bata shoe company) was born and started his empire.

Thank you, I consider myself quite confident in English, average in French, beginner in Spanish and Italian.

The first one was totalled by a truck driver who didn't care for yield sign... Half of the blackie was gone in a minute...

About the second one... I am attaching some pictures of the car from the press (don't ask)... I also saw video from carDVR (my car guy is no newbie so when he is moving customers' cars he always takes one extra car with DVR)

I DIDN'T DO THIS!

What does not seem right is that series of unfortunate events happening to one guy - me...

The STi is different story including thousands spent in parts and labor... Never was meant to be daily driven, spec list is huge and if you want I can post it here. But love/hate relationship is right name for my liking of that car. The 'Rezza is currently being prepared for sale as I moved to 911 and roll caged Alpina E46 B3.3 (with crazy built 410hp engine with racing ecu and many more).

My daily driven weapon of choice is the bimmer, F10 535xd (updated info in first post).

Unbelievable, that is some bad luck. Here I was thinking the dealer had bad selling practices and double sold your cars or something.

What a sad sight. So that is now 2 less 991 GTS-s that we know of...

Here, we usually don't pay the transportation and destination fee... However my three cars were individually bought from different German Porsche dealers with oversight from my car guy's friend at Porsche AG... Two of which were transported individually to CZ.

My bet is that these 2 totalled GTS-s would live again... It's sad but common practice in more to the east european countries to repair these and re-sell them "as good as new"...
