All you gotta do is move to west Texas! I used to live about a hundred miles further west of here in Big Spring. There was an AFB there that had the claim to fame of having the most flyable weather of any in the service--362 days per year in average. Sunshine nearly every day... downside is we only average about 28 inches of rain per year.

Default Regarding a rough suspension

Took a spirited drive on Friday, found some back rounds in the Appalachian mountains. You know those roads, so remote there's no paint or markings what so ever. Of course the road wasn't built for high speed and got rather bumpy above 55 mph, and though the sport suspension beat me pretty hard the car was unbelievably true regardless of the twist, dropping corner, or bump in the road. Absolutely awesome, over an hour at full grin.

Bonus, now that I have a nav system I can find that road again

SPASM with a 7 speed MT, wouldn't have it any other way.

I replaced two COV's on my 2014 in the first 8 months and less than 6,000 mi. Not a big deal unless your are out of warranty. When they fail it can be a nuisance or a real pain in the butt, depending on which one fails.

The other issue is the cooling fans that pick up gravel and ruin the bearings. I went through one of those too.

Thanks Frank - I've read up a lot on the valve issue now. Mine has had the one controlling the heater fail but so far no others that I can tell.

Funny that they only had one early campaign that replaced all 8...now it's hit or miss when they fail.

Since I have a 7-MT it doesn't seem any failures will cause more than the inconvenience of a trip to the dealer, correct?

To specifically answer the OP's question, there aren't any early build issues.

By and large I believe you are correct. The engine coolant COV can be a flat bed ride. All others will permit you to drive to the dealer.
